Sydney Sweeney Parties Hard In Blue Jeans During Boozy Night Out As She Ignores AE Ad Backlash

Sydney Sweeney recently shared photos of herself and some friends partying in Florida, while rocking blue jeans.

The "Euphoria" star recently came under fire after she featured in a commercial for denim brand American Eagle, which some critics slammed as racist.

Many had demanded that she release a statement or an apology, but Sydney Sweeney has ignored her critics as she returned to Instagram to promote her film "Americana."

Sweeney flaunted her love for denim as she enjoyed a boozy night out with some pals. The "White Lotus" actress took to her Instagram account to share photos from the fun experience, and she can be seen rocking a blue denim with a white cotton crop top that flashed her toned midriff, and white sneakers.

The event seemingly took place at a crowded location, as fellow partygoers were spotted scattered around in the background.

Sweeney held up a tray of shots to hand out to friends in one photo. She kept her blonde hair down and is also seen holding up a microphone with a girl pal on a stage for some karaoke.

"Duval diaries," she captioned the photos.

Sweeney's time out with friends comes some weeks after she faced backlash for her American Eagle "Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans" commercial.

In the ad, the 27-year-old actress made a  "jeans/genes" pun, but critics argued that it supported eugenics and white supremacist rhetoric.

A Salon report noted that the term "great genes" is "historically used to celebrate whiteness, thinness and attractiveness," seemingly making the commercial "a tone-deaf marketing move."

Amid the backlash from several online, Sweeney has remained silence, seemingly opting to let the issue die down.

Unlike Sweeney, American has since released a statement insisting that the "'Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans' is and always was about the jeans."

"Her jeans. Her story," they added. "We'll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone."

After posting the ad on her Instagram last month, she seemingly went on a hiatus from posting amid the backlash. However, she returned 3 days ago and shared a series of pictures promoting her new film "Americana."

"A few years ago, I filmed this little movie with some friends, and now you get to meet Penny Jo," she wrote in the caption.

Although a poll showed that only 12% of Americans see the ad as controversial, crisis PR expert Eric Schiffer believes the situation bears some risk if the movie star continues to go silent about it.

"Sydney's mute button is a toxic time‑bomb with some people on the left – every hour of hush hurls her wholesome brand deeper into racial quicksand," he told the Daily Mail.

The CEO of Reputation Management Consultants warned that failing to speak out "will be seen as a brutal insult to many shoppers on the left."

"Sydney's no‑comment stance will scream ruthless privilege to those offended, and critics feast on the void like vultures on a desert carcass," Schiffer continued.

He, however, acknowledged how some conservatives may resonate well with her silence.

"For conservatives, Sydney refusing to grovel denies the mob its delicious public‑shaming ritual and would be seen as a brutal power move," he said. "Because for conservatives, silence isn't weakness, it's an ironclad shield against manipulative narrative‑hijackers."

Sweeney became single again after her relationship with her fiancé, Jonathan Davino, came to an end.

The pair first sparked romance rumors in 2018 before blossoming into a full relationship and even later getting engaged.

However, the actress raised eyebrows earlier this year when she deleted a photo of them kissing on New Year's Eve.

According to People Magazine, an insider claimed that the break-up happened after Sweeney came to realize she wasn't prepared to get married and "didn't feel right" about her connection with Davino.

"She's exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She's all about working right now and very excited about all her projects," the source said.

"What did make her overwhelmed, though, was her relationship and her wedding. She didn't feel right about it," the insider continued.

The source added that Sweeney "is not ready to settle down" and that her relationship with Davino "only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off."
