'RHOC' Alum Alexis Bellino Talks Co-Parenting With Ex-Husband Jim

Alexis Bellino opened up about her co-parenting relationship with her ex-husband, Jim Bellino, during an interview with Us Weekly magazine on June 14.

Three years after their split, the former "Real Housewives of Orange County" cast member, who is currently engaged to Andy Bohn, admitted that while she and Jim aren't completely at odds with one another, their working relationship for their kids is still a "work in progress."

“We still have our ups and downs," Alexis, 44, admitted. 

Luckily, the former couple has a similar goal.

"One thing that we are 100 percent about is how much we love our kids, and we want it to be the best for them and put them first. So that works out,” Alexis explained.

Alexis, who appeared on "The Real Housewives of Orange County" from season five until season eight shares three children, including son James, 14, and twin daughters Melania and Mackenna, 13, with Jim, 59.

Although Alexis noted that things between her and Jim were “hard” at times because their “personalities are a little bit more clashy,” she acknowledged that it's getting easier.

“It should be getting easier, and it does each day. We just try to respect each other and put our kids first," she shared. "We definitely have our days, like if there’s something that happens that puts my mama bear up and then I get upset. Or if we don’t see eye-to-eye on something in regard to parenting, it definitely throws a curve ball … for communication.”

Alexis was married to Jim from 2005 to 2018 and told Us Weekly magazine that they are not “hanging out” or “best friends by any means." That said, they do attend their kids’ sporting events together.

In December 2020, following her split from Jim, Alexis became engaged to Andy. And, while they haven't yet announced any specific plans for their big day, Alexis said Jim “did say congratulations” when he heard about the exciting news. 

 As for how Jim and Andy get along, Alexis said things between them are "actually" just fine.

“You can’t fight with Andy,” Alexis explained. “He doesn’t have an enemy, and he’s the most easygoing, kindhearted person you’ve ever met. He would never allow there to be any kind of tension or anything, so it works out good.”

According to Alexis, she would advise all single parents to “take the high road always” when dealing with their ex.

“Emotions are high because, obviously, you were married to that person for a reason. A lot of the feelings don’t just disappear and … there are just a lot of emotions that you can’t even explain. And then throw in there new partners and new children brought into the mix, and it just makes it kind of difficult. You just keep your head up," she stated.
