State Farm is tackling the football season with a fresh twist, teaming up with Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor for a playful new TV spot that proves having insurance isn't the same as having State Farm, with the clever concept "Trainor vs. Trainer."

In the ad, "Jake from State Farm" sets up the joke perfectly, pointing to Kansas City Chiefs athletic trainer Julie Frymyer and saying, "Having insurance vs. State Farm is like having this trainer," before turning to Meghan and adding, "versus that Trainor."

The moment hilariously drives home the point that when it comes to protection, experience matters, and not all trainers (or Trainors) are created equal.

For Meghan, the opportunity was both surprising and deeply personal.

"I was just so happy and so honored," she told The Blast exclusively. "They really thought about me like this. A lot of people, especially in the UK, make jokes about my name, and finally, someone has used it in the best way possible. I get to use my silly last name, and I love it."

Filming the commercial was a family affair for Meghan Trainor.

"I immediately thought, I have to bring my brother to meet him," she said of her older sibling, who shares her love of football.

"Watching him meet Pat Mahomes… I did that. I did that magic," she continued, adding that "Pat was so nice."

She even brought her four-year-old son, who might not understand the gravity of the moment yet, but one day will realize just how iconic it was.

Trainor says meeting Julie Frymyer was equally memorable. "No one wants me as an actual trainer," she laughed. "That's why it's so funny. Having me instead of the most iconic trainer there is for Pat Mahomes? That's what makes the spot work."

It turns out Trainor's football knowledge runs deeper than a catchy pun.

She grew up playing the sport alongside her brother, starting in third grade as the only girl on her team. "I was the center because I was bigger than the other little boys," she recalled. "I was tough. It made me feel bada--."

Her love of the game extends to game-day traditions at home.

"We always make a feast," she shared. "Friends and family come over, and it's basically a party. We start eating at 3 p.m. like it's Thanksgiving, then go for round two at seven."

On the menu? Her mom's legendary mini hot dogs caramelized in Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and brown sugar, plus plenty of chips, wings, and, for balance, a token platter of celery and carrots.

While the commercial is packed with laughs, Meghan Trainor says one behind-the-scenes moment with Mahomes truly stuck with her.

"Anytime we had a break, he'd look at me in my really painful heels and ask, 'Are you okay? Do you want to take those off?'" she said. "I was like, I'm sorry, who raised you? Green flag. Green flag. He's a gem."

The kindness didn't stop there. Trainor gushed about working alongside State Farm's "Jake" and Frymyer, calling them "everything you wish they'd be and more."
