Cher's friends are growing worried that her latest cosmetic procedures have gone too far, with some saying her face now appears to be "melting."

The concern stems from the singer's relationship with a much younger boyfriend, which has intensified her drive to keep altering her appearance.

Music icon Cher has been unusually open about her history with plastic surgery, admitting to facelifts, nose jobs, and breast augmentation.

Those close to the singer say her once smooth and youthful features have started to look overly altered, with tightened skin, exaggerated lips, and a strained expression replacing the face fans have long admired.

They warn, "She's been indulging for years, but it's really catching up to her," describing her appearance as "pulled" and "stretched."

RadarOnline reported that many believe the root of the changes lies in her relationship with 38-year-old Alexander "A.E." Edwards, whom she has been dating for more than two years.

Friends say the large age gap has amplified her insecurities, leading her to keep pursuing more cosmetic work. Those around her worry she does not realize how dramatically her appearance has shifted, with some comparing her current look to that of a wax figure.

Cher has been turning heads for decades, and at 79, she is still managing to keep that same vibrant glow fans have loved since the start of her career.

Dr. Robert H. Cohen says it is likely not one single secret keeping her looking so fresh, but a mix of lifestyle habits and a few well-chosen tweaks along the way.

Speaking on her appearance, Cohen credited a combination of "regimented exercise, diet, and skin care routine with subtle cosmetic surgery procedures" for slowing the clock. He suggested Cher may have started this routine early in life and kept up with regular treatments to maintain her appearance.

Cohen believes she has probably had non-invasive procedures like Botox, fillers, facials, and microneedling. Even her famously full smile has not escaped attention.

As Cohen explains, the space between the nose and upper lip tends to lengthen with age, but Cher seems to have taken steps to keep that youthful proportion intact.

Despite many speculations on what she has done, Cher has never been one to dodge questions about her appearance.  A 2023 NewBeauty article looked back at moments where the TV personality addressed plastic surgery rumors head-on, giving fans rare honesty in an industry known for secrecy.

In 1984, then 38, Cher told British broadcaster Terry Wogan she had undergone one procedure and would have no problem doing more if she felt it was needed.

Four years later, she shot down the bizarre rumor that she had ribs removed, pointing out that her stage outfits and workout commercials would make any scars impossible to hide. At the time, she confirmed having her nose and breasts done, as well as wearing braces, but dismissed other claims as false.

By 2002, she was pushing back against talk of cheek implants, insisting her facial structure had never changed. In 2018, Cher confirmed that she had a facelift, adding with her trademark wit, "Yes, I've had a facelift, but who hasn't?"

Before their brief split and reunion, Cher and Alexander had already built a solid year-long relationship. But as The Blast noted in 2023, that romance almost never took off, all because she was hesitant about the years between them.

The two first met at a party in 2022, where they struck up a conversation. Not long after, the music executive began texting Cher. Even then, she was not sure she should take things further.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Cher admitted she initially tried to talk herself out of it. "I kept saying, 'I'm not the right woman for you. First of all, I'm 100 years older than you,'" she recalled. She also worried his friends would not think it was "cool" for him to date her.

But the father-of-one was not having it. "Why don't you let me be the judge of that?" he told her. That simple response was all it took, and from there, their relationship took shape.

Some might see Cher's recent look as the result of plastic surgery, but it may simply be the toll of stress. The Blast highlighted that the "Believe" songstress has been leaning on an unusual source of support, daily conversations with her late mother, Georgia, who passed away in 2022.

Sources claim Cher feels a strong spiritual connection with Georgia and talks to her every day, believing the bond they shared in life continues beyond death.

Rather than keep her grief private, the music icon has sought out mediums to help her feel closer to her mom, a move that friends say is giving her some peace.

"She feels her mom's presence and knows Georgia is still with her," one source explained. Radar Online noted that Cher isn't concerned about outside opinions.

"Cher doesn't care if people think she's crazy. She talks to her mom every day and can feel her mom's empathy and understanding from the world beyond," an insider said.

Will Cher listen to her friends and call it quits on plastic surgery?
