Meghan Markle Slammed For Silence Amid Prince Harry's Sentebale Drama

Meghan Markle is facing backlash for staying quiet as Prince Harry's involvement in a growing Sentebale controversy dominates headlines.

The couple is already in the middle of legal action over allegations in Andrew Lownie's book "Entitled," adding more strain to their public image.

Earlier this year, Prince Harry stepped down from his role at the African charity after facing accusations of bullying, "misogynoir," and racism. 

As Harry faces accusations tied to his former role at the African charity Sentebale, one glaring question remains: why has his wife stayed quiet?

The controversy, filled with conflicting claims, has drawn the attention of critics, not only to Harry's alleged conduct but also to Meghan's absence from the conversation. 

Despite usually showcasing a picture-perfect family image online, one observer, Daily Mail columnist Amanda Platell, claims Meghan offered no public defense of Harry. 

Platell noted that NHS psychiatrist Dr. Max Pemberton also questioned Meghan's silence, writing that there were "no signs of support" from her. Her conclusion is blunt: Meghan now views Harry as a liability to her personal brand and will not let his troubles interfere with her pursuit of lucrative ventures. 

According to The Daily Mail, she also points out in her report the irony that some of the accusations, including racism and bullying, mirror those Meghan herself leveled against the Royal Family in her 2021 Oprah interview.

Harry is said to be reeling from what he views as a "hostile takeover" of Sentebale, the African charity he co-founded nearly two decades ago.

The Blast shared that the prince has been spending hours on late-night calls from California, speaking to allies about the turmoil and his deep sense of loss over the organization he once called his "life's work."

Insiders say Harry has privately vowed there is "no way in hell" he would return to Sentebale while its current chair, Dr. Sophie Chandauka, and her team remain in charge.

Earlier this year, Harry stepped down from his official role at the charity. In a joint statement with his co-founder, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, he expressed shock and sadness over the internal tensions tearing the group apart.

Royal editor Rebecca English noted that Harry's camp accused Dr. Chandauka of using manipulative tactics to gain control.

They added that he was ignoring warnings about poor governance and even reporting concerned trustees to the Charity Commission rather than addressing their issues. One source claimed she would "rather see the charity go down in flames" than step aside.

The charity's chair had accused Harry and the former board of trustees of driving her out through bullying, harassment, and what she described as "misogynoir," which is a mix of racism and misogyny. 

But in a surprising twist, the Charity Commission for England and Wales announced the outcome of its investigation, saying there was no evidence of systemic bullying, harassment, misogyny, or misogynoir at Sentebale.

The regulator also said it found no proof of improper behavior by either Chandauka as chair or Harry in his role as patron, effectively clearing both sides of the most damaging claims.

Harry has faced a tense few weeks, and Meghan's silence about the charity may not be surprising as the couple now finds themselves headed into another legal clash, this time involving author Andrew Lownie.

The Blast reported that the dispute centers on a Daily Mail story that printed excerpts from Lownie's work "Entitled," which includes claims of a physical fight between Harry and Prince Andrew in 2013. 

The book alleges the two argued during a family gathering, with Harry confronting Andrew over comments made behind his back. Lownie writes that the spat escalated into punches, leaving Andrew with a bloody nose.

It also claims Andrew doubted Harry's relationship with Meghan from the start, reportedly telling him the marriage would not last a month and accusing his nephew of being reckless for not "checking her past."

Harry's spokesperson has called the claims "gross inaccuracies" and "damaging." A legal letter has reportedly been sent to the news outlet, demanding accountability for what the couple considers false and defamatory remarks.

Despite the drama swirling around them, Harry and Meghan are still winning on the TV front, sealing a new multi-year Netflix deal to keep their projects rolling.

The couple, who first partnered with the streaming giant in 2020 after leaving the UK, originally signed a $100 million agreement to produce shows through their company, Archewell Productions.

Even with critics doubting their staying power, the pair has now secured another deal that includes an extended partnership, which consists of a first-look agreement for both film and television projects.

The new arrangement will also fold in their "As Ever" brand, a banner Meghan says will help create thoughtful projects across multiple genres.
