A feature on Swift’s 12th album would be significant for any artist, but it holds extra meaning for Carpenter, who has long admired and looked up to the superstar.

In 2023, Carpenter’s dream became a reality when she opened for Swift at the Eras Tour. At the time, the actress revealed she was “obsessed” with the Grammy Award winner.

“It’s so weird when you’re hanging out as two young women as opposed to thinking about when she goes onstage and is that person and when I go onstage,” Carpenter said per Rolling Stone.

Before the opening, the young star had gushed to the outlet about Swift, describing her as a “masterclass.”

Sabrina Carpenter noted that she was comfortable opening for the singer because Swift was someone she “admired” and would love to study.

Sabrina Carpenter has learned a thing or two from spending time with Swift.

In fact, she revealed that her Short and Sweet Tour was inspired by the pop icon, describing the experience as transformative for her own shows.

Per the Daily Mail, she said, “Her stadiums make my shows look like clubs. Watching her keep their attention as if she’s playing in their living room, it was like — and I told her this — ‘Your tour enabled me to do mine.’”

The singer noted that witnessing Swift’s connection with fans encouraged her to fully embrace her own stage presence.

She also opened up about the risqué elements of her tour, including simulating sex scenes and performing playful poses during her Juno act.

“I don’t want to let them down. So sometimes I go: Oh, you know what? F*ck it. It’s Thursday. Let me give them a new one,” she said.

Carpenter explained that her performances are about having fun in the moment and giving each city a unique experience.
