Taylor Swift is getting body-shamed as she makes headlines for announcing her new album. The singer, 35, was quickly accused of copying British pop star Kylie Minogue's Showgirl: The Greatest Hits album this week, although her cover for her The Life Of A Showgirl EP also sparked other remarks. Taylor, who made 2024 headlines for the success of her The Tortured Poets Department, delighted fans with the news of her upcoming music via boyfriend Travis Kelce's podcast a few days ago. The Grammy winner has since shared her new album cover on Instagram, where comments are disabled. Fans aired their thoughts elsewhere, and it looks like they're bullying her.

The "Blank Space" star, who sat amid fine furnishings, sent the camera a coy gaze in her first slide, adding a teeny draping piece of white fabric for a skirt while covering it in more silver sparkles.

Flaunting her curvy waistline and toned thighs, Tay-Tay added sheer fishnets and a silver rhinestone headpiece, plus cuff jewelry. Meanwhile, her segmented bra came complete with matching cap sleeves for a show-stopping finish. Taylor might be releasing new beats, but she hasn't abandoned her signature red lipstick. The billionaire donned a bold red lip alongside her matte makeup layer, with her second slide showing the same photo, but with text announcing her album cover.

In her Wednesday night share, she wrote: "Pre-order The Life of a Showgirl: 'It’s Beautiful' Limited Release Deluxe CD now on my site. Available for 72 hours while supplies last." The post has netted over 5 million likes.

The photos quickly made The Daily Mail's headlines, where users were alerted to a similarity between Taylor's upcoming album and looks Kylie Minogue wore back in 2005 while on tour. Some fans commented on the observation, but others focused their attention on Taylor Swift.

"Why do these women who make millions from singing lower themselves by dressing like strippers. Can’t you sing with clothes on," one hater remarked. Others remarked on the blonde's weight. A troll gained over 30 likes for saying: "Swift is no "Showgirl" and she looks absolutely hideous (and FAT) in that pic. Pamela Anderson is a Showgirl. Enough said."

Replying, and appearing to agree, another hater asked: "Why do you think they obscure her thigh area?" A further body-shamer wondered why Taylor Swift's "head" was "too big for her body."

Taylor is known for her fit figure. She's also opened up about suffering from an eating disorder in the past, something she revealed in her 2020 Miss Americana documentary. Swift has also released her 12-song tracklist for her new album.
