The drama surrounding Wendy Williams' guardianship continues with new medical examination results reportedly re-diagnosing her with FTD!

The TV personality was placed under legal guardianship in 2022 due to concerns about her mental capacity and financial well-being. A year later, she was diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), with her legal guardian painting an even dire picture in 2024.

However, Wendy Williams vehemently denied being mentally incapacitated earlier this year and began a legal battle against her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey. Although she claimed she received good mental competency tests in March, new reports allegedly shared a different narrative.

The result of Williams' medical evaluation has reportedly extended her guardianship, as indicated by the legal documents obtained by PEOPLE. She underwent a "significant number of tests (both medical and neuropsychological) and scans (including brain imaging)" to evaluate her neurological condition.

The legal documents stated that the result of these tests required an extension of Williams' guardianship. The lawyer for her court-appointed guardian requested that the guardianship be extended for three months and end on November 5.

Although the documents did not explain the diagnosis doctors determined from the medical evaluation, sources alleged that Williams was re-diagnosed with FTD and aphasia. The shocking update comes five months after she claimed she received good evaluation results.

Two months after Williams dropped scathing allegations about her guardianship and Morrissey in January, authorities removed her from her assisted living facility in New York. She was transported to a hospital where she reportedly underwent mental competency tests.

"I passed with flying colors!" Williams declared in a March 11 interview, noting her caretaker, Ginalia Monterrosa, could back her claims. The latter, who accompanied the former talk show host to the hospital, echoed similar sentiments about her alleged test results.

Earlier this year, a source claimed Williams was looking forward to the reevaluation of her medical condition. The Blast reported that the source noted Williams was advised to be "patient" amid the lengthy process to regain her freedom.

The source added that Williams' court-appointed guardian Morrissey felt the heat as fans joined the fight, advocating for the former radio personality's freedom. The public became invested in the case following Williams' bombshell interview in January.

Williams denied being cognitively impaired on "The Breakfast Club," venting her frustration against Morrissey. She labeled her guardianship "emotional abuse," claiming her assisted living facility was a "luxury prison" that isolated her from her loved ones.

Weeks before the latest update in Williams' guardianship, The Blast shared that her attorney did not like the judge presiding over her case. Joe Tacopina slammed the  "despicably slow" processing of his client's case, blaming the delay on the judge.

Tacopina claimed Judge Lisa Sokoloff was biased and uncooperative, noting there was a high chance she would reject their request to end the guardianship based on her attitude. He stressed that he would push for a jury trial if the guardianship were extended.

Williams' attorney first bashed the judge in April after reports claimed Sokoloff berated his client and her family during a hearing. The legal umpire allegedly told Williams her career was over and accused her family of being up to no good, allegations Tacopina labeled "outrageous."

Williams' issues with her court-appointed guardian made waves in April after Morrissey reportedly halted the entertainer's birthday plans. The Blast shared that Williams was blocked from attending a dinner with her niece, Alex Finnie, and Tacopina.

Sources claimed Morrissey prohibited Williams from leaving her assisted living facility, a move that contradicted her lawyer's statements. The guardian's legal rep stressed that Williams was not restricted from seeing her family following her isolation claims.

Although the reason for the sudden prohibition was unclear, it followed the kidnapping drama in March. Williams' assisted living facility in NYC accused her niece of "evading staff" and taking Williams out of the facility without permission.
