According to Blackstock's obituary, which was released on Tuesday, he has been in a quiet relationship with a woman identified as Brittney Marie Jones.

"After more than 20 years in the music business, Brandon found his way back to the mountains and the cowboy way of life he always wanted to live," the obituary stated, per the Daily Mail. "He found a homestead and a love in Butte, Montana."

It continued, "Brandon, along with his beautiful and loving partner in life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana."

A December 2024 report on Blackstock and Jones's rodeo business labeled Jones as Clarkson's "former assistant."

Furthermore, a LinkedIn profile for Jones has her describing herself as a person who "successfully assistant managed day to day for artist, Kelly Clarkson, under manager, Brandon Blackstock, in Los Angeles for music and television."

According to The Sun, Jones noted on her profile that she eventually became the "Executive Assistant for Mr. Blackstock's cattle operation in Montana," where she handled the administrative work.

The shock revelation comes after Blackstock passed away due to melanoma.

Away from Blackstock's romance, it was reported that Clarkson is heartbroken for her children following the death of their father.

The pair got married in 2013, but split after 7 years as Clarkson filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. They share two children, a daughter named River, and a son named Remy.

Sources have shared that the singer's sadness is not just a reaction to the loss, but that she's "devastated" for them, as it now puts them in a similar situation she endured as a child when her father left her.

Clarkson has not had much of a relationship with her father, Stephen Clarkson, who left the family when she was young, with an insider telling Page Six, "they are essentially estranged."

In fact, she did all she could to spare her children from experiencing what it meant to not have a relationship with their father despite her messy divorce from Blackstock, which was settled in 2022.

"Kelly's biggest fear during the divorce was that her kids would grow up feeling distant from their father," the source told the news outlet.

"She always wanted to spare them that. She's devastated for them," they shared.

Blackstock, who was also Clarkson's former manager, passed away at the age of 48 after a long and private battle with melanoma. Reports suggest that the "Because of You" singer was by his side during his final weeks and notably took breaks from her hit NBC talk show "The Kelly Clarkson Show" to tend to him and their children.

"Even though things were not good with her and Brandon for a while before they split — and then they got positively nuclear during the divorce proceedings — absolutely none of that ever changed Kelly's bottom line: her kids deserved to grow up having a wonderful relationship with their dad," the insider who spoke with Page Six explained.

They noted that she has had a "very strained relationship with her own father her entire life." However, when she and Blackstock first got together, he particularly drove home "how important it was that his relationship with his kids remained strong."

"Their bond wasn't going to end just because that marriage did," they added.

Clarkson seemingly picked up a lesson or two from her ex-husband, who also had two children, Savannah and Seth, from his first marriage to Melissa Ashworth.

The insider shared that despite all their issues, Clarkson learned by observing Blackstock from their first days together, noting how he "never badmouthed his first wife around his kids, and he never let that divorce get in the way of their bond."

"So Kelly knew she would do the same thing," they said. Speaking on Clarkson's children, the source noted that their father's death "will change them forever, and it's a tragedy that has just wrecked [Clarkson]."

"Brandon didn't turn out to be the best husband for her or the best person to try to separate from easily or amicably, but he was always a very good dad who adored his kids. She will grieve that particular loss forever," they added.

One day before the former talent manager passed, Clarkson announced that she was postponing the remaining dates of her August Las Vegas residency to be "fully present" for her children as their father was "ill."

"While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them," she wrote in a statement, per The Blast. "I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows, and I so appreciate your grace, kindness, and understanding."

However, things would proceed as scheduled for the seventh season of "The Kelly Clarkson Show," which is due next month.

New dates on major ticketing sites show that her postponed performances for her Las Vegas residency have been fixed for July and August of next year. However, her appearance as a returning coach on "The Voice" remains in doubt.
