Taylor Swift Bikini Throwback Dubbed 'Belly Button Discovery Day'

Pop star Taylor Swift does indeed have a belly button, and it’s almost hard to believe we live in a world where it was, at one point, up for debate.

However, without a bikini pic, fans just couldn’t be sure. During the early days of her career, the “Blank Space” singer made sure to cover up her body, but once she was caught on a boat with her friends, she decided to share the fun photos herself.

On January 23, 2023, a Taylor Swift fan account shared a throwback post to a photo Swift shared on January 23, 2015, making it officially over 10 years that have passed since “Belly Button Discovery Day.”

The fan included some context behind the post, writing: “they got pictures of us in our bikinis, I don't want them to make like $100K for stalking us.' So we're like, 'Get up on the bow of the boat. We're taking better bikini shots.”

“Belly button discovery day,” one fan commented. “And people discovered she actually has a belly button,” another follower wrote in a separate comment.

Although that’s what it’s known as in Swiftie history, one user commented: “She’d already been photographed in a blue and white striped bikini in like 2012 or 2013, where you can see her belly button. people were just being dramatic.”

However, one could argue that since Swift wasn’t showing off her bikini herself, it doesn’t count. Swift has been especially private in the past year following the Chiefs' Super Bowl loss, and did not host the Fourth of July parties that she has become famous for.

Even though she has been notoriously private about her relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce, tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, they were caught canoodling on vacation in 2024. In one photo, she can be seen wearing a yellow bikini as she kisses her man in the water and holds up a drink in one hand.

“How To Touch Someone as Little as Possible Whilst Kissing Them in a Bikini in the Ocean: A Skillshare Class by Taylor Alison Swift,” wrote a user in the caption. One fan speculated that she was touching him as little as possible because “he’s literally sunburnt all over his shoulders, chest, and back” and doesn’t “wanna hurt him.”

“She's carrying a drink too in the middle of the salty *ss ocean, like let her focus,” another user chimed in.

In mid-August, she announced that she was heading into a new era with the release of a new album: “The Life of a Showgirl.” No release date has been announced, but it is already available for pre-order on her website.
