Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Aniston's iconic friendship would have been the ultimate girl power moment in the nineties if the industry didn't frown on women supporting women.
The duo recently reflected on their years-long bond in an interview, revealing they had so much in common, yet they were forced to spend more years apart than together.
From dating the same man to having similar stalking experiences, Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Aniston have been through a lot. However, they continue to persevere, united through their highs and lows.
Sandra Bullock Says The Competitive Industry Kept Her & Jennifer Aniston Apart

Bullock and Aniston shed light on their long-lasting bond in the latter's cover story for Vanity Fair, published Monday, August 11. The "Miss Congeniality" star noted their friendship was delayed due to the competitive nature of the entertainment industry in the nineties.
"We were from that time in the business where no one wanted the ladies to be friends — it was about pitting everyone against each other," Bullock recalled. She claimed they were told they weren't supposed to be friends, noting that things like respecting and honoring each other were out of the picture.
Besides the industry pitting them against each other, Bullock and Aniston might not have hit it off in the nineties because of their ties to actor Tate Donovan. Bullock dated Donovan from 1990-1995, with the latter swiftly moving on after their breakup with Aniston. They dated from 1995-1998.

Although they missed the opportunity to become best pals in the nineties, Bullock and Aniston found their way back to each other in 2010. While attending a mutual friend's wedding, the women locked eyes and discovered they were seated on separate sides of the aisle despite being friends of the groom.
Bullock recalled the moment being the start of their friendship, saying, "We were just like, 'Oh my God, we need to meet and cut loose,' And we did." Aniston added that they traded shots and notes all night, claiming the drinks she sent over to Bullock were stronger than what she sent over to her side.
Bullock and Aniston noted their friendship kicked off without a hitch thanks to their similarities. They bonded over their love for interior design, practical jokes, and even supported each other through their ordeals with overzealous male fans.
Inside The Actresses' Issues With Unsolicited Male Attention

A man infamously broke into Bullock's home in 2014, while a different person crashed his car into Aniston's Los Angeles property in May 2025. Bullock reflected on the horrifying experience in the interview, revealing that it created the mindset of her home becoming her fortress.
Bullock noted that overzealous male fans could strike at any time, stating that there were cases where they broke into homes or caught celebrities outside, and even moments where these men tracked female stars to their filming locations.
There were also cases that no one hears about, the actress added. She noted that she depended on Aniston and vice versa for encouragement to go outside, stressing that she did not want to become a recluse like the late Howard Hughes.
Sandra Bullock Battled With PTSD After The Terrifying Home Invasion

Bullock first got candid about the terrifying home invasion in 2021 during an appearance on "Red Table Talk." She addressed the matter at length after co-host Willow Smith opened up about her own home invasion experience.
Bullock was at home when the culprit, Joshua James Corbett, jumped the fence of her Hollywood Hills property and got inside the house. She recalled hiding in the closet, thinking the situation was going to end badly for her, while thanking God that her son wasn't with her.
"The violation of that. I wasn't the same after that. I was unraveling," Bullock confessed, noting she had PTSD and suddenly burst into tears in unexpected moments.
She got the help she needed to heal through EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, but the scar remains, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Jennifer Aniston Addressed The May Incident In Her Home

As stated, Aniston experienced a similar ordeal with an overzealous male fan, like Bullock. The Blast covered the story, reporting that a man named Jimmy Wayne Carwyle was arrested for felony stalking and felony vandalism after crashing his car into the gate of the actress's L.A. home.
An investigation revealed Carwyle had been spamming Aniston with calls and messages since 2023, allegedly stalking her before his antics turned violent in May 2025. Fortunately, he could not penetrate the "Friends" star's security, and they held Carwyle down until authorities arrived.
During her recent interview, Aniston refused to address the incident at length but noted, "People are out of their minds." She added that her security team was "not glamorous in any way. It's a necessity."
Hopefully, Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock won't have to deal with more overzealous male fans testing their boundaries.
