Lauren Sánchez Breaks Silence On Mixed Feelings Amid Parenting Milestone

Lauren Sánchez is in her feelings, but for all the right reasons!

Mrs. Bezos recently sent her adorable son off to college, and her emotions are at an all-time high to see him become a full-blown adult.

Lauren Sánchez is a doting mother to three children: Nikko with her ex Tony Gonzalez and two kids, Evan and Ella, with her estranged husband Patrick Whitesell.

The media personality took to her Instagram Story yesterday, sharing a clip of her second son, Evan, putting together a piece of cabinet in his college dorm room. The youngster donned a green shirt, gray pants, and a gray face cap as he carefully handled a screwdriver to do some woodwork.

"Dropped off Evan at college today. 18 years of early mornings, late night snacks, and family dinners.... and then there he was building his own dorm cabinet," she wrote.

Sánchez added that although the act may seem like a small event, it meant a lot to her, seeing him enter into "the start of his next chapter."

The star concluded by admitting that she feels many emotions, including immense pride in her son, heartbreak that he is now away in college, and gratitude for being part of his experience and growth.

The licensed pilot got her first taste of motherhood with her former NFL tight end boyfriend, Gonzalez, in 2001, and they have remained great co-parents since their split.

Nikko and his father also share a close relationship, including attending red carpets together and skydiving. He has also walked on the Dolce & Gabbana runway, a few months before graduating from college in May 2024. 

Nikko became a big brother in 2006, when his mother married Whitesell the previous year. Evan, dropped off to college yesterday, was reportedly born at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California.

The former journalist welcomed her only daughter, Eleanor (Ella), with the Hollywood agent two years later in 2008.

Whitesell and Sánchez agreed to share joint custody of their two children following their divorce in 2019. The media personality shares her passion for flying with her two kids, revealing that they have all taken flight lessons.

Following their lavish wedding in Italy in front of over 200 friends and family members, Sánchez and Bezos entered into their world of blended family. The billionaire already has four children from his marriage to MacKenzie Scott, which ended in a separation in 2019 after nearly 25 years together as a couple.

As shared by PEOPLE, Sánchez came into the marriage with three kids, making them a total of nine people in their blended family.

While the Amazon founder keeps his children away from the spotlight, the family reportedly made giant strides in making sure their kids maintain a good rapport with each other.

A source close to the family explained in 2023, following a family vacation with Sánchez's oldest son, that they put their four years of dating to good use by building a close bond with their kids.

The former journalist and Amazon CEO began their relationship right after he separated from Scott in 2019; Bezos and Sánchez's affair reportedly played a major role in the breakdown of his marriage to the philanthropist.

Sánchez's kids were not left behind in the glamor of her wedding to the former richest man in the world. Her two sons, Nikko and Evan, reportedly walked her down the aisle to the admiration of several guests at the outdoor event.

As shared by The Blast, her daughter also stood in as her maid of honor and delivered the reading at the event, looking stunning in a Dolce and Gabbana suit to match her mother's custom-made dress.

The journalist raved about the wardrobe aspect of her wedding, which had her going for fittings alongside her excited daughter, who was not really a fan of playing dress-ups. Sánchez and Bezos tied the knot on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy.

The lavish event had celebrities in their number, including the Kar-Jenner clan, Orlando Bloom, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Usher, Tom Brady, Leonardo DiCaprio, and many others.

Sánchez was beyond excited to update her social media status to reflect her new name and share images of her breathtaking wedding dress. In one of the posts, Sánchez showcased herself during one fitting session for the dress, surrounded by designers from the luxury Dolce & Gabbana brand.

The dress came with a built-in Italian lace-covered neckline attached to a mermaid silhouette, put together with a corseted button-up bodice paired with a short, flowy train.

In one of the pictures, Domenico Dolce carefully placed a veil on Sánchez's face, proof that she was with the team every step of the way in bringing her dream dress to life.

For her wedding gift, Sánchez was a spoiled wife, getting a matching diamond jewelry set valued between $3 to $5 million from her husband. Guests at the wedding caught a first look at the massive jewelry, which reportedly upgraded the former journalist's impressive jewelry collection.
