Denise Welsh Shades Taylor Swift

Swift's big reveal comes weeks after the pop star made the headlines due to Denise Welch's shady comments about her.

In July, Welch, Swift's ex Matt Healy's mother, sparked a buzz after delivering a very pointed joke about the star during her appearance on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen."

Asked about Swift's album "The Tortured Poets Department," which is widely believed to reference her brief romance with her son, Welch said, "not being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost."

The studio audience gasped, and she quickly added, "Not that I have anything against her at all. It was just,  you know, it was tricky."

She also chimed in on how her son handled the fallout, noting that "Matty has taken it all in completely good grace," and added that he's now "very happy with his amazing fiancée."

Following Welch's comments, Swifties took to social media to slam the 63-year-old. However, Swift remained silent about the situation.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, a source revealed that the 35-year-old found the comments obnoxious, but decided to take the "high road."

They noted that if Swift ever decided to respond, it would be in a future song.

"But as of right now, she might just let it slide. She is not going to let Denise ruin her day. Taylor respected Denise and will continue to do so, as this will go away very quickly," the source shared.

Overall, they explained that Swift was in a happy place and prioritized her peace.
