Queen Elizabeth II’s Ex-Press Secretary Slams Prince Harry’s 'Victim' Act

Prince Harry has been hit with a royal reality check and this time, it is coming straight from one of Queen Elizabeth II’s most trusted former aides.

Alisa Anderson, the late monarch’s ex-press secretary, has delivered a no-holds-barred warning, telling the Duke of Sussex to drop the “victim” act if he is serious about repairing his fractured bond with the royal family.

Her blunt message comes amid Prince Harry’s desire to mend broken fences.

Alisa Anderson has a piece of advice for Prince Harry that could hasten his reconciliation with the royal family.

In a new Channel 5 documentary titled “Prince Harry: My Terrible Year,” the former secretary weighed in on the Duke of Sussex’s family drama.

She began by opening up about what Prince Harry was like before he quit the UK and moved with his wife, Meghan Markle, to the US.

“My engagement and my experience with Prince Harry has only been positive. He is very warm and very engaging and kind, so only fond memories of him, truly,” Anderson said per the Daily Mail, adding, “I think potentially it is almost a crossroads for him now, what does he do next?"

Later in the documentary, Anderson advised Prince Harry to “stop being the victim,” and “start writing your own scripts.”

She suggested that the public may be growing weary of Harry portraying himself as constantly under attack and dwelling on the difficulties of his life.

Anderson also criticized the 40-year-old’s decision to speak openly about the royal family on TV, calling it “too impulsive.”

Recall that in May 2025, Prince Harry made the headlines when he spoke to the BBC about his father’s cancer diagnosis, admitting that he was unsure how long King Charles had left to live.

Anderson worried that Prince Harry’s openness may lead to a lack of trust within royal circles.

“I think trust is paramount in every walk of life, if you can't trust your family, who can you trust?” Anderson said.

According to her, King Charles and Prince William would likely be concerned that welcoming Prince Harry back could result in private information being leaked.

Besides Anderson, other experts also weighed in on Prince Harry’s situation with his family.

They suggested that while he may genuinely want to reconcile with his family, his ego could be blocking the process.

Psychotherapist Emma Reed Turrell shared a direct message for the Duke during the documentary.

She urged him to “stick a pin” in his ego and focus less on winning arguments and more on restoring relationships.

According to her, forgiveness had to come from both sides. Turrell also stressed that reconciliation is possible if both sides show accountability and responsibility.

She stated that any “annus horribilis” could have lasting effects and urged Harry to practice self-care, compassion, and deliberate measures to make repairs.

The new documentary comes three months after Prince Harry told the BBC that he “would love a reconciliation” with the Royal Family after losing his legal challenge over security arrangements in the U.K., describing the situation as deeply painful and noting he is “devastated” by the court’s decision.

While speaking from California, he said his father “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff,” but stated that he had “forgiven” his family and sees no point in continuing the fight.

Prince Harry expressed uncertainty over how much time his father has left, calling life “precious,” and added that he cannot envision bringing his wife and children back to the U.K. in these conditions.

Following Harry’s comments, he took an extra step to make peace by offering to share his official diary engagements with the Royal Family.

However, British Royal expert Hilary Fordwich slammed the move, calling it “desperate” and “self serving.”

"While this self-serving gesture is notable, it won't do much to mitigate suspicion and caution on the royal side," Fordwich told Fox News Digital per the New York Post.

According to Fordwich, palace insiders revealed King Charles was “cautious and wary” about private information getting leaked again.

Additionally, a lingering doubt still prevails in Prince William's camp. "They only see [a reconciliation] as creating more bombshells, as well as instability," he added.
