Princess Andre is stepping bravely into her own spotlight and opening up about a painful past.
In her candid new ITV series “The Princess Diaries,” the 18-year-old revealed that her childhood wasn’t always rosy.
She reflected on her mother Katie Price’s tumultuous relationships and admitted that witnessing her mom’s breakdown during her third marriage left her feeling deeply unsettled.
Revealing that her childhood felt dark, the Internet personality also noted that she is still navigating the path toward healing.
Princess Talks About Her Childhood Trauma With Katie Price

Princess held nothing back during the first episode of her ITV show as she shared deep details about her traumatic childhood.
“I had so much on my plate at such a young age,” she told viewers per the Daily Mail.
Growing up in the media, Princess recounted how the breakdown of Katie Price’s marriage to her third husband, Kieran Hayler, hit her hard.
The young star revealed that she wished she had an “I don’t care” mindset like her mom, but sadly, that wasn’t the case. “I’ll go to bed and cry about it,” she said.
Princess recalled Hayler being a part of their lives for five years, noting that he did a lot for them. Unfortunately, after the split, “everything went downhill.”
Princess Recounts Seeing Adult Things At A Young Age

Princess admitted she saw Katie Price go through a very dark time, exposing her to emotional scenes no child should endure.
“It was things kids shouldn't see and when we needed our mum there, she wasn't there because she had her own problems,” she explained.
Princess recalled how kids at school would ask her about it, and being only 11 at the time, she would cry about it.
The 18-year-old explained that she couldn’t talk to her dad, Peter Andre, about her feelings because her parents weren’t cordial.
“I could speak about my childhood and be absolutely fine, but then once something sets me off and then I actually deep everything, I'm like 'Oh my God, like no,’” she added.
Princess Turned To Writing For Comfort

Despite missing emotional support at the time, Princess found some solace in therapy.
“I did have a counsellor, I do still see her every now and then. But I don’t feel like I can really talk, so I just write everything down in my notes,” she shared, revealing the tools she leaned on to process what she had been through.
Writing, she said, became her voice when words felt too heavy. Even as she continues to confront hard memories, Princess doesn’t deny there were joyful moments.
“I have amazing memories from when I was younger with my mum and my dad, and I also have not so good memories of the time when my mum and Kieran split up, when I was like, 10 years old,” she said.
However, those experiences were tinged by moments of separation, loneliness, and confusion when Price was emotionally absent.
Reflecting now, Princess said she wished her childhood was less burdened and happier.
Inside Katie Price And Princess’s Present Relationship

Meanwhile, Price has moved on from the trauma and is in a better place.
Princess revealed that the model had spoken to her about it and apologized for being emotionally absent.
Although an apology wasn’t what she needed, Princess revealed that she had forgiven her mother.
She also shared that her relationship with Price has grown more mature over time.
“We now talk a lot and she is now my best friend,” Princess said, reconfirming a similar statement she made in January 2025, about her relationship with Price.
At the time, Princess revealed their bond had shifted from a “mommy-and-daughter” bond to a more “grown-up bond.”
Katie Price Attempted To Take Her Life

Price, on her part, has also been open about the emotional turmoil she has faced after her marriage to Hayler ended.
Last year, the media personality revealed in a chat with You Magazine that she resorted to drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism, amid wanting to take her life.
Price said she had reached a point where she no longer wanted to be alive, thinking there was no point as no one was there, no one was helping, and no one understood how she was feeling. She explained that when she woke up from the attempt, she thought, “What the f***? I can’t do this to my kids,” realising she had been at breaking point.
She later went to the private hospital, The Priory, and recognised that the suicide attempt was the culmination of a long breakdown.
