Savannah Chrisley is getting raw and honest about reuniting with her parents and has admitted that her family reunion has not been a smooth ride so far.

The social media influencer’s parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were granted a presidential pardon in May, effectively ending their 19-year sentence for tax fraud, which started in 2023.

Savannah once admitted that becoming a guardian to her younger siblings challenged her but made her stronger. The experience of advocating for her parents’ release has also made her consider running for Congress in the future.

During the latest episode of the “Unlocked With Savannah” podcast, the 27-year-old media personality discussed how life has changed for her following her parents’ release from prison.

She shared that cohabiting with Todd and Julie was a whole new ball game, and she wasn’t quite prepared for it. In her words:

"It's a challenge, especially to all of us being under one roof… It's great. I love it. I would have begged for this a year ago, but it's a lot. It's a lot. Imagine living with your parents again after being out of the house for 11 or 12 years. That's a lot."

Savannah’s living challenges ultimately stem from lifestyle differences between her and her parents. Despite being almost 28 years old, the influencer’s father does not approve of her occasionally indulging in a glass of wine or a cocktail.

On one occasion, Todd even threw out his daughter’s alcoholic drinks, even though she could just buy them again. “...He came in my house and threw out all my seltzers. Like, threw them out. Who does that? Who does that?” Savannah said.

The “Growing Up Chrisley” star revealed that as a “full-fledged adult,” she has had to take care of her bills and other responsibilities. As such, being policed around by her parents didn’t sit right with her.

When Todd and Julie began their prison sentence, Savannah was tasked with taking up a guardianship role for her siblings.

While the new role tested her, it also forced her to become more responsible with her finances and ultimately made her a better person.

As reported by The Blast, the reality TV star said, “I feel like God never gives you more than you can bear. I feel like what is happening right now is exactly what I needed to not be this spoiled, entitled whatever, because what's happening now is testing who I am as a person.”

Savannah didn't just step in to fill her parents’ shoes in the lives of her siblings but also advocated for her parents’ release from prison.

The experience, she claimed, opened her eyes to lapses in the justice system and inspired her to aim towards making a change.

She said, “Now I see all the broken things in the system where individuals have to be rehabilitated, where we need mental health treatment for these individuals, as well as giving them job opportunities and advocating for them when it comes to that.”

The American actress also admitted that running for Congress had crossed her mind. However, she is still uncertain about it.

The Family Feud Is Still Brewing Between Savannah And Half-Sister Lindsie

While all is well between Savannah and her parents, the case is not the same for Savannah and her half-sister, Lindsie Chrisley.

The two half-sisters have had a long-standing feud, which intensified after Julie and Todd’s conviction.

According to The Blast, the “Unlocked With Savannah” podcaster believes that Lindsie had a hand in her parents’ imprisonment.

She recalled how a prosecutor read a letter addressed to the FBI from Lindsie during her parents’ trial. As such, she wants her sister to “lose” the Chrisley name as she no longer regards her as family.
