Stephen A. Smith is not here for Michelle Obama's shade.
The outspoken ESPN star, fresh off signing a staggering $100 million contract with the network, fired back at the former First Lady after she compared Stephen A. Smith and "First Take" to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."
Stephen A. Smith Rips Michelle Obama Over ESPN Shade

Obama sparked the unexpected feud on a recent episode of her IMO podcast, quipping, "If I listen to ESPN for an hour, it's like watching the 'Real Housewives of Atlanta.' It's the same drama, and they're yelling at each other, and they don't get along, you know? I mean, Stephen A. Smith, he's just like every other talk show host."
When another guest jokingly suggested Smith would make a "great Real Housewife," the sports commentator didn't take it lightly.
Appearing on Fox News' "Hannity" Monday night, Smith unloaded on Obama, calling the comparison disrespectful and dismissing her sports knowledge altogether.
"Well, first of all, there's no relationship [between us and 'Housewives'] because these are some of the greatest athletes on the planet earth that play professional sports, that's who we're talking about as opposed to reality TV stars that can barely act," he said.
Drawing The Line With Michelle Obama

Stephen A. Smith went further, taking a personal swipe, "You also have to take into consideration that she doesn't really pay much attention to sports; evidently, she leaves that to her husband."
But his biggest headline-grabbing remark came when he drew a line in the sand about his own image.
"You can say Stephen A. Smith is a lot of things and will be a lot of things. The one thing you can never say about me is that I'm going to be a housewife. There's no confusion there. Zero," Smith noted.
The "First Take" host also pushed back on Obama's suggestion that ESPN thrives on negativity, saying, "When she talked about 'First Take,' she said we're arguing and hating on each other. We have a lot of love for one another. We laugh, we joke, we yell about sports, but we've been No. 1 for 13 consecutive years for a reason. We have a blast doing it."
Fans Weigh In: 'He's Literally Proving Her Point'

The clash between Stephen A. Smith and Michelle Obama didn't just dominate cable news; it lit up the comment sections. Over on the Daily Mail, readers wasted no time in sounding off on who they thought came out on top in the unexpected feud.
One critic didn't hold back, writing, "Stephen Smith is difficult to look at. Just Ew. He should also look up First Lady Michelle Obama's degree and credentials. Weasel."
Another compared the ESPN star to the very politician he accused Obama of defending. "So thin-skinned he'd make a superb replacement for Trump!" they quipped.
Some readers argued that Smith's fiery response only reinforced Obama's original point. "Lol, he is doing himself no favors. He's literally proving her point," one wrote.
But not all the comments were aimed at Smith. A few took shots at Obama herself, with one user blasting, "Michelle is tacky, as tacky as they come; it was an embarrassment to have her in the White House."
Stephen A. Smith Rips Trump Over Commanders Remarks

Stephen A. Smith didn't just have Michelle Obama in his sights recently as he also took aim at President Donald Trump, calling his latest sports-related remarks "petty" and "evasive."
Trump recently reignited controversy by urging the Washington Commanders to change their name back to the "Redskins," a term widely considered a racial slur against Native Americans. Smith wasted no time in blasting the president, accusing him of trying to distract the public.
"I think it's the president being petty. I think it's him being evasive," Smith said. "Because the reality is, no matter how good he wants people to believe things are with the 'Big, Beautiful Bill' and other things that have been transpiring, tariff wars, the border issues, or whatever… there are millions upon millions of people in the United States of America that are not necessarily happy with some of the things that he's doing. So what does he do? He caters to his base."
Claiming Trump Is Using Redskins Debate To Distract From The Epstein Controversy

While acknowledging that many on the right are pleased with Trump's policies, Stephen A. Smith shrugged off the name-change debate as a hollow distraction.
"Much ado about nothing," he said, suggesting Trump's comments were a way to divert attention at a time when his base has been openly frustrated over issues like the government's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case.
"It's just him catering to his base to make sure that he serves to appease them in some way, to distract them from other issues, including the Epstein files, by the way, because a lot of people associated with the MAGA right want those files released," Smith continued. "And you even have Republican representatives on the Hill wanting those files released, wanting to see for themselves because they're not buying what the administration is saying when they say that there's absolutely nothing there."
