Donald Trump has a new target at CBS Network, and it is Gayle King.

The president, in an unhinged social media rant, turned his back on the CBS Mornings" co-host, accusing her of losing belief in him and his administration.

Trump's lash-out at King comes after he fiercely celebrated the end of Stephen Colbert's long-running talk show, with sources claiming he played a part in the shocking cancellation.

On Monday night, Trump took to his Truth Social platform to write, "Gayle King's career is over. She should have stayed with her belief in TRUMP. She never had the courage to do so."

Taking a jab at the revered journalist, the president added that King has no "talent," "ratings," and "strength." Alongside the harsh comments, Trump reposted a New York Post article that claimed King's future at CBS was "murky."

The report alleged that declining ratings and the audience's disdain for the "woke" morning show have management thinking of letting King go.

Although there is no confirmed statement from King or CBS on the issue, it is believed that the network's new owners, SkyDance Media, have little desire to renew the TV personality's multi-million dollar salary.

Despite Trump's claim of broadcast journalist "belief" in him, reports show that the pair have always been at loggerheads. King has been a vocal critic of the Republican Party members.

In fact, for the November 2024 presidential elections, the 70-year-old endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. Speaking at the Democratic National Convention, King declared Harris was "uniquely qualified" for the job.

As reported by the Daily Beast, during Trump's January 2025 inauguration, King criticized the lack of diversity among the crowd.

"I do not see many people of color. Does anybody else besides me observe that? I'm fascinated by why that is?" she said.

Trump's threat towards King might, however, not come to pass, given that previous reports claim the editor of the Oprah Magazine wants to leave CBS on her terms.

As The Blast previously reported, King is itching to part ways with the network for the sake of her legacy. She doesn't want her image tarnished by their scandal, especially involving President Trump.

"She didn't sign up for this mess. It's over," the source alleged. "She's still one of the most respected names in news, and she's being dragged down by chaos she can't control."

The insider noted that 2025 might be King's last year, as she is "weighing her next move carefully" and likely not to renew the alleged $10 million salary she signed in 2024.

The TV Personality Angry Over 'Personal Attack' From CBS

The famous journalist also has a gripe to pick with the network for changing the filming location for "CBS Mornings." Initially, it was filmed at the lavish Times Square studio before a transition to the CBS Broadcast Center.

King was reportedly "livid" over the decision because she believes only the best amenities should be given to her. "She sees this as a personal attack. She only signed a one-year extension, and this was not part of the deal," the informant said.

The Maryland native always emphasized her need for "comfort" and "prestige" as she was "not going to be shoved into some dingy little room."

Trump's attack on Gayle King comes after the president publicly gloated over the end of "The Stephen Colbert Show."

Last month, CBS announced that Colbert's hit late-night talk show will end in May 2026 with no renewal. Following the revelation, Trump took to social media to celebrate, as reported by The Blast. "I absolutely love that Colbert' got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings," he wrote.

The 79-year-old world leader then turned his attention to fellow host Jimmy Kimmel, declaring that he was "next" and "has even less talent than Colbert."

Trump suggested a more worthy replacement, naming Greg Gutfeld as the best, before throwing jabs at a "Moron on NBC who ruined the once great Tonight Show."
