Angel Reese is once again setting the record straight after yet another fake quote attributed to her went viral on social media.
Angel Reese Claps Back At Troll Accounts For Spreading Lies About Her On Social Media

A user on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, shared a meme of Reese on July 29, 2025, that had the quote, "Y'all make $1400 a week, I make $1400 in seven days."
The post's caption read, "Angel Reese just flexed on everyone hating on her. 'Y'all make $1,400 a week... I make $1,400 in 7 days.' SHE'S LIKE THAT."
The user's original post came with no sources and no legitimate proof that Reese ever made the statement. Despite this, several users jumped into the comments to bash Reese, with one user posting, "Bragging about income is a sign of deep insecurity."
Another user shared, "I think I'm more concerned [about] the people that actually don't understand that 7 days is a week..."
A third user wrote, "This is not a flex. Servers make that in a 3-day weekend at a high-end steak house."
The post on X, shared by a user who pays for a verification symbol, meaning they earn revenue based on the post's level of engagement, has garnered over 10 million views and over 5,000 responses.
Angel Reese Blasts Commenters For Believing Things With 'No Proof'
Over on TikTok, Reese, who's currently in the middle of her sophomore season with the Chicago Sky, shared a video directly refuting the fake quote and calling out those who spread it.
In the clip, Reese is lip-syncing over audio that says, "I don't know if your brain is all scrambled from like all the Molly you take, but I never said that." The text on top of the video read, "Y'all believing I said something about 7 days in a week bs."
The caption of her video also featured choice words. "Y'all literally just believe sh-t with no proof. Like, where did that even come from? I know I pay y'all bills, but d-mn, LMFAO."
Some Users Rushed To Defend Angel Reese

"They don't even know what six figures is, mind you," someone commented on Reese's video, to which she replied, "That part."
Another user wrote, "I been working OVERTIME defending you, girl! I'm in all the comments."
Someone else echoed that sentiment, sharing, "It's a full-time job defending you, but I got your back."
Other users pointed out that the troll accounts posting fake news are only doing it to garner engagement, with one specifically posting, "It's the first of the month. They needed your name to help pay rent."
Reese Has Been The Target Of Fake News For A Long Time
when did i say this?? 🤣🤣yall really make up something new everyday lmaooo https://t.co/7261STXVuw

Unfortunately for Reese, this is just the latest instance of her being the target of fake news. In June 2025, another phony quote from an X account began circulating, this time claiming Reese said the WNBA's Britney Griner could beat the NBA's Allen Iverson when he was in his prime.
Reese shut the rumor down quickly on X, writing, "When did I say this? Y'all really make up something new every day."
Griner also jumped into the conversation with a post of her own, which read, "We know this [is] fake. [Allen Iverson] is, was, and will be one of the most exciting players to watch. I get crossed up watching his highlights. Lol."
Reese Is Used To Calling Out The Lies
I love how yall have selective hearing. I said “I’m hearing if they don’t give us what we want, we sitting out” and that’s the truth. I never said anything about the NBA. We are prepared to stay at the negotiating table for as long as it takes. Here’s the link to my podcast so… https://t.co/UQ7aHtUIXi

And before that, Reese also had to correct a social media user who twisted her words about WNBA players potentially sitting out of the 2026 season if they were unable to reach a new contract with the league.
A user claimed Reese said WNBA athletes should be "paid like NBA players," which she quickly denied online.
“I love how yall have selective hearing,” Reese wrote. “I said ‘I’m hearing if they don’t give us what we want, we sitting out’ and that’s the truth. I never said anything about the NBA. We are prepared to stay at the negotiating table for as long as it takes. Here’s the link to my podcast so you can hear the conversation too. I will continue to use my voice to speak for what WE want & deserve as a league. Thank ya.”
