Kim Cattrallmight not have said it outright, but fans are convinced she had something to say about the shocking cancellation of "And Just Like That…"
Just hours after HBO announced that the "Sex and the City" spinoff would end after its third season, though it’s being padded with an expanded two-part finale, Kim Cattrall took to Instagram with a cryptic message.

Posting a serene shot of a sunset over the water, she simply wrote, “It’s the end of a very long week," adding a red heart emoji and a kiss mark emoji.
The timing was enough to send her followers into overdrive.
Cattrall famously sat out of the revival, declining to reunite with her original "Sex and the City" co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, though she did agree to make blink-and-you-miss-it cameos in the sequel’s final two seasons.
Fans Celebrate Kim Cattrall’s Subtle Nod To 'AJLT'’s End

Fans wasted no time reading between the lines of Cattrall’s cryptic sunset post, and many took it as her own stylish way of toasting the end of the series she famously distanced herself from.
One of her followers joked, “'And Just Like That…' Samantha sat down to watch the sunrise, took a drink from her glass of champagne, and celebrated Karma.”
Others praised Cattrall directly, begging for more of her beloved alter ego. “Kim, we need a fabulous new series just for you. Real ones knew,” one fan wrote, while another pleaded, “I want a spin-off of Samantha.”
Kim Cattrall Hailed As ‘Forever Iconic’ For Refusing To Let Samantha Be Rewritten

Several viewers even thanked the actress for standing her ground and protecting her character’s legacy.
“Thank you, Kim Cattrall, for fiercely protecting Samantha’s legacy. You refused to let her be rewritten to fit someone else’s ego under the excuse of ‘updating the story,’” one person declared.
Another echoed the sentiment, writing, “Thank you for your years of Samantha Jones. You’re forever iconic. I really hope you make an appearance before 'And Just Like That...' is gone.”
Michael Patrick King On Ending 'And Just Like That…'

Meanwhile, showrunner Michael Patrick King confirmed the decision to close the curtain on Carrie Bradshaw’s latest chapter, releasing a statement Friday alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and HBO execs.
“And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the "Sex and the City" universe is coming to an end,” King shared. “While I was writing the last episode of 'And Just Like That…' season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop.”
He added that the final season would be extended from 10 episodes to 12, closing with an emotional two-part finale.
“SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word final to overshadow the fun of watching the season,” King explained. “It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”

Parker also took to social media with an emotional farewell, penning a poetic tribute to the character who has defined much of her career. Parker, who first slipped into Carrie Bradshaw’s Manolos in 1998 with the debut of Sex and the City, reflected on the decades-long journey she’s shared with fans.
"She crossed streets, avenues, rubicons, so it seemed. She broke hearts, heels, habits. She loved, lost, won, tripped, leaped, fell short and into puddles, aged, got wiser," SJP wrote of her character. "She has made the hardest, worst and best decisions."
“Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years," the actress continued. "I think I have loved her most of all. I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her. MPK and I together recognized, as we have in the past, this chapter complete. 'AJLT' was all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us.”
