When someone threw a bright green sex toy on the court during a WNBA game a few days ago, Sydney Colson saw a humorous opportunity she couldn't pass up. And then it happened a second time on Friday night, and the comic chaos reached a whole new level. Even Angel Reese got involved with a joke of her own.
WNBA player and podcast host, Sydney Colson, is making light of a strange situation that happened not once, but twice this week at two separate WNBA games. Colson even started an Instagram page to keep the jokes coming.

The WNBA is making news for something other than basketball right now. In fact, it's for something NSFW, and one player is running with it making light of the odd situation with hilarious banter.
Officials had to pause the Atlanta Dream vs. Golden State Valkyries game on Wednesday in Atlanta, and then again during the Chicago Sky vs. Golden State Valkyries game in Chicago on Friday.
After the first incidence, Colson, who currently plays for the Indiana Fever, saw an opportunity to get some laughs out of the crazy situation.
That's when "The Official Mean Green" Instagram page was born.

"The WNBA is making headlines for something completely out of the green. For balls that we're not used to seeing on WNBA courts," said Theresa Plaisance, or TP, during a recent podcast episode.
Colson then explains that while they are trying to "detach ourselves from the W a little bit or basketball" to show that they are funny, they are "reeled back in."
Colson then breaks down the "nightmare of a situation" that occurred during the recent Valkyries vs. Dream game.
"Nightmare depending on who you are, it is a dream for some," she joked. "The 'mean green,' I wanna just call it the 'mean green,' the 'mean green' was catapulted onto the court from the stands during live action," she explained. "The score is 75-75, there's like 51 seconds left. It's tied; this is a crucial point in the game. Somebody said, here's my moment, my time to shine, baby."
The 'Mean Green' Was A Guest On The Podcast
After the second incidence of a bright green sex toy being tossed onto the court during a WNBA game, the jokes came faster and faster.
Colsen, dressed in all green, literally became the "mean green" on the podcast to share some insight into what happened. The comedy duo of Colson and TP had viewers cracking up about a situation that's got everyone talking.
TP asked the "mean green," "As a pioneer in the sports space, how's it feel to have the breakthrough performance that you had?" Colson responded, "I mean, it was my first game, for real, my first women's NBA game. I mean, sh-t was cool it just, wasn't entertaining enough. I kind of wanted to be in the action, is how I felt a little bit. It was straight, well it wasn't straight."
Colson, keeping a straight face and not breaking character, went on to explain why the "mean green" was in the arena during the game.

Colson and TP didn't miss a beat after the "mean green" made its second appearance at a W game on Friday night. A hilarious post instantly popped up on the official IG page.
The "mean green" added a comment to the post, "And I do it again."
And since it happened at two separate Valkyries games, another viewer wanted to know, "Like is it targeting the Valks? Bizarre."
Angel Reese Also Got In On The Action

After Friday night's incident, Chicago Sky star Angel Reese took to X to make a joke about Colson's "mean green" persona.
"hey @SydJColson, why do you keep throwing your mean green in different arenas...it's getting weird."
Colson posted Reese's comment on her "mean green" IG page and viewers were loving how the "content writes itself," as one person put it.
"Well this just became a series," one person shared in the comment section. Another added, "The throw wasn't as good this time."
But not everyone is making jokes about the strange situation. Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham took to X to share, "stop throwing d-ldos on the court...you're going to hurt one of us."
Will the "mean green" strike again? Whether it happens again or not, we're sure Colson will keep the joke going strong for a while, at least.
