Prince Harry seems very serious about mending fences with the royal family after he and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped away from royal life.

According to reports, the Duke of Sussex extended an olive branch to his estranged family members by offering to share his official diary engagements.

However, experts have slammed Prince Harry's latest move as "desperate," noting that the "gesture" won't do much as King Charles is now "guarded more than ever."

Hilary Fordwich, a British royal expert, tagged Harry's peace offering as "desperate" and "self-serving," claiming it won't do much to change the distrust the royal family has for the duke.

"While this self-serving gesture is notable, it won't do much to mitigate suspicion and caution on the royal side," Fordwich told Fox News Digital.

The expert further stated that palace insiders revealed that King Charles "has expressed being 'cautious and wary' regarding fearing further unsavory leaks, [especially] private royal family gatherings being publicized yet again."

"Also, overall doubt still prevails in Prince William's camp," Fordwich added. "He considers any reconciliation at all as a 'grave mistake.' His senior royal courtiers are understood to be just as wary and immensely protective of the future monarch. They only see [a reconciliation] as creating more bombshells, as well as instability

Harry reportedly offered to share the schedule in his diary with senior members of the Royal Family in an attempt to bridge the strained ties between them.

The duke hasn't been on talking terms with most senior royals since he and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down from their royal roles in 2020 and relocated abroad.

In the years following their move, the couple made serious allegations against the monarchy in interviews, documentaries, and Harry's 2023 memoir, "Spare."

However, the duke has been making efforts to extend an olive branch to his estranged family and recently sent some of his top aides to meet with King Charles' communication chief in London for what has been termed "peace talks."

Now, Harry is said to have offered a transparent view of his calendar to them in an attempt to "deconflict" his engagements, so that they can pick a date that works best for King Charles to meet with him.

"Harry has shifted into a new way of thinking. The tone is now all about 'deconflicting' with his family," a source told the DailyMail.

Harry has also reportedly made the same offer to his estranged brother and sister-in-law, Prince William and Kate Middleton.

William and Kate have not spoken with Harry since 2020, as reports suggest the future king is "done" with his brother and has no intention of mending their rift.

Sources close to the duke suggest that the offer of Harry's diary engagement is aimed at preventing a clash in dates, like how his visit to the African country of Angola knocked out coverage of Queen Camilla's 78th birthday portrait on the front pages of newspapers earlier this month.

Following the trip earlier this month, images of Harry walking down the same minefield his late mother, Princess Diana, walked 28 years ago, accompanied by throwback photos of Diana in the exact location, dominated most U.K. newspapers.

"That's why his household agreed to draw up a 'grid' of his activities and share them with Buckingham Palace, and by extension with Kensington Palace," an insider said.

Harry's aides' meeting with King Charles' top aides is said to have ensured an "open line of communication" between the prince and his father for the first time in years.

"Before that meeting between their aides in London, conflicts of interest or clashes of publicity were relished and even perhaps encouraged by the Sussexes," the insider who spoke to the Daily Mail added.

However, Harry reportedly doesn't plan on being controlled by his family and is still looking to protect his independence, like he has always insisted.

"Harry still doesn't like being controlled by the royal machinery, and that won't change," the source said, further explaining that the royals will now have "full sight" of Harry's schedule. "It's a significant gesture."

Meanwhile, Harry's alleged "peace talks" are rumored to have a connection to Netflix's decision not to renew his and his wife's $100 million deal.

Amid rumors that the couple may be experiencing financial constraints, having trimmed down their staff, author and royal commentator Robert Jobson suggested their renewed interest in reconciliation with the royal family may be because they're seeking financial support from the monarchy.

"Well, the deal was always set at about $100 million, wasn't it?" Jobson said, pointing out that a bulk of that amount was tied to specific production obligations. "And the talk of that figure sort of blew a lot of people's minds, but I think that was for productions and things that they're supposed to have done."

"Where does it leave them? Probably with a bit of a bowl out, looking for some handouts," he added, per The Sun. "Maybe that's why they were over with their staff; they were over here having discussions with the king. I know."
