More Than Just Friends? Justin Trudeau All Smiles During Stroll With Katy Perry Before Cozy Dinner Date

Katy Perry was spotted on a leisurely walk across the park with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau just before they hit a swanky restaurant for a dinner date.

It comes after the singer split from longtime fiancé Orlando Bloom, leading fans to take to social media to share their mixed reactions to her outing with Trudeau.

Meanwhile, Katy Perry has admitted that she struggles to keep her "composure" while performing her breakup songs during her ongoing "Lifetimes" world tour.

Perry and former Canadian leader Trudeau went on a cozy dinner date on Monday evening, but that only came after they took a casual stroll together in the park.

According to TMZ, the pair were seen walking down Montreal's Mount Royal Park on Monday, with Trudeau smiling from ear to ear, just before they hit Le Violon for dinner.

While it seemed like a casual stroll between them, the pair appeared so close that one could mistake them for a couple. Trudeau then dropped Perry and her pet at the Ritz-Carlton, presumably to freshen up and change clothes before going to the dinner date.

At the upscale restaurant, Perry seemed interested in what Trudeau had to say and often leaned in across the table as they sipped their cocktails.

As reported by the news outlet, the chef who served them, Danny Smiles, said there was no PDA between the pair and that they visited the kitchen to personally thank the staff.

Perry and Trudeau have now set tongues wagging with their public outing as netizens took to social media to share their mixed reactions.

The singer and politician are both single, with the "Teenage Dream" singer recently splitting from her ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, while Trudeau announced his separation from his ex-wife Sophie Grégoire back in August 2023.

"Not even surprised," a fan wrote. "Probably the only world leader who knows all her songs by heart - and has a unique dance choreographed to each one of them!"

A shocked fan noted, "Wow, I never would have thought about this combo!"

"Mmmm, good for Katy. She's been going through it," one fan wrote, while another added: "So random but I'm kinda here for it."

However, some social media users think a possible romance between Trudeau and Perry is a bad idea.

"Katy Perry is barking up the wrong tree; she's looking pretty desperate these days," an X user penned.

"This is the weirdest link-up," another added.

Perry's split from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor was said to have been caused by the "tensions" that sprang up between them amid the controversies that trailed her following her all-female space trip.

According to The Sun, sources say Bloom "did not approve" of it as he never thought "going on the mission was a good idea."

However, Perry still joined the likes of Aisha Bowe, Lauren Sanchez, Kerianne Flynn, Gayle King, and Amanda Nguyen for the trip, with the insider adding that Bloom "knew she would get backlash" from the it and was "frustrated" and "disappointed" with her decision to take part in it.

"From day one, Orlando didn't think going on the Blue Origin mission was a good idea, and knew she would face backlash," the source said. "He always thought it was a stupid idea, and she wouldn't get anything positive out of it."

Another source told People Magazine that the underwhelming reception to her recent album also didn't help matters, as it negatively affected her and caused "some tension" in her relationship with Bloom.

"Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album," a source told the news outlet. "It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension."

"She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews. It's put stress on their relationship," another source said.

The 40-year-old singer now struggles to keep her "composure" while performing her breakup songs on tour.

During her recent stop in California, some fans voted for her to "Not Like the Movies," but the singer seems to have had a second thought about it.

"You're gonna make me sing this song in this time in my life?" she asked, referencing her and ex-fiancé Bloom's recent split.

Perry continued, "OK, we'll do it! Because you voted for it. … I'm gonna try not to cry. Don't worry. I won't cry."

The singer then told fans that the song dated back to her "first divorce" from ex-husband Russell Brand, before explaining to those who voted for her to perform "The One That Got Away," that she would "try and hold [her] composure while sing[ing] it a week before [her] period."
