Lisa Vanderpump opened up about her new, animal-based series on Peacock during the June 7 episode of Betches' "Mention It All" podcast.
Ahead of the premiere episode of "Vanderpump Dogs," which was first announced earlier this year, Vanderpump explained the concept of what her show is about.
“This show isn’t so much about the [Vanderpump Dogs] foundation, it’s more about the connection between people and dogs as we try to find the right match," she explained.

"There will be tears and laughter… This is six beautiful episodes and many stories of people finding their beloved pets," Vanderpump continued, confirming the first season of her new show is quite short.
According to Vanderpump, she and her team at the Vanderpump Dogs Foundation often take on some really really difficult situations.
"Dogs that have been hit by cars, left on the side of the road, we have to amputate some. Sometimes dogs need terrible surgeries to save their lives," she explained.

"I want to shine a light on rescue and the positivity of rescue and how much a dog can benefit your life as we see so often in this series," Vanderpump noted.
Vanderpump went on to say that she would love to see more people adopting rescue animals.
"I would encourage everyone to rescue and I think in the last few years we have definitely seen a change in the attitude for rescue as opposed to breeders and puppy mills," she stated.
While a number of Vanderpump's reality shows are based around drama, she said that "Vanderpump Dogs" is a "very different animal, so to speak.”

Instead of drama, Vanderpump said her new show is focused on connecting people with the dogs, and "the dogs are of the utmost importance."
"I don’t think you want any kind of emotional dysfunction and those kind of dynamics in the world of rescue," she shared.
As for the upcoming ninth season of "Vanderpump Rules," Vanderpump said that it's "definitely been a bit complicated... the first six episodes are definitely complicated and fascinating."
"You can definitely tell they’ve been locked up for a year,” she added.

"Even though it feels a little bit more mature in some ways, there is still an intense dynamic. Even though we are not that far into the series… It seems like this group of people is so authentic… this is a show we could film 52 weeks a year," Vanderpump added.
