Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Slammed As Hypocrites For Tyler Perry Scandal Silence

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can not seem to catch a break.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are getting slammed for staying silent while their friend Tyler Perry faces a $260 million sexual assault lawsuit.
The sentiment appears to stem from the fact that Tyler Perry assisted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with accommodations when they first relocated from the U.K. to begin their lives as non-working members of the Royal family.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Accused Of 'Lack Of Moral Courage'

The couple, often outspoken on issues of justice and accountability, has yet to address the scandal, despite Perry being the godfather of their daughter, Princess Lilibet. The silence is not sitting well with critics, some of whom say the Duke and Duchess are avoiding potential legal entanglement.
Those close to the couple reportedly believe their silence is a strategic move. "They are remaining quiet on purpose because they do not want to get involved in Tyler's case," a source shared.
"But many think it's hypocritical, since Tyler Perry has stuck up for them so many times, and it's bad that the Sussexes don't say anything to support him now," they added.
The insider tells RadarOnline that Harry and Meghan are steering clear of the spotlight, worried that any public remarks could land them on a lawyer's radar. Royal commentator Hilary Fordwich did not hold back, calling their lack of response "a clear demonstration of a total lack of moral courage."
Tyler Perry, Meanwhile, Is Unbothered By The Lawsuit

Tyler is not letting a massive lawsuit stop him from enjoying himself or Beyoncé. Just days after Derek filed the million-dollar sexual assault suit against Tyler, the Hollywood veteran was spotted front and center at the Paris stop of Queen Bey's "Cowboy Carter" tour.
The Blast highlighted fan videos showing the star in high spirits, dressed casually, and laughing with friends as the show progressed.
One clip jokingly summed up the mood: "Tyler Perry said he's not worried about none of you heauxs and the allegations. The billionaire is chilling at Beyoncé's concert in Paris."
Tyler was later seen vibing with Tina Knowles, Beyoncé's mother, during one of her daughter's fiery performances.
The Producer Denied Explosive Sexual Assault Claims

While making sure to have fun, Tyler also fired back after being hit with the lawsuit filled with serious allegations of sexual assault, harassment, and battery. Through his legal team, the 55-year-old is pushing back hard. In a statement, his attorney slammed the accusations as false and money-driven:
"This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam. But Tyler will not be shaken down, and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail."
The lawsuit accused the media mogul of multiple disturbing encounters, including one where Tyler allegedly walked in on Derek at his Atlanta home in just underwear, hugged him, then forcibly groped and undressed him.
Another claim details an earlier incident in 2020, where Tyler allegedly grabbed Derek by the throat while making inappropriate comments.
Tyler Perry Says The Sussexes Hid Out In His Home For Weeks

Before his recent troubles, Tyler opened up about how he became Meghan and Harry's lifeline. On the "Let's Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa"podcast, the father-of-one explained why he offered his Beverly Hills mansion and complete security to the royal couple in 2020.
After their Canadian hideaway was exposed, Meghan called Tyler months after he had sent her a note offering help.
And he did not hesitate. He secretly flew the couple and their baby, Archie, to L.A. and provided them with a private place to stay. "They hid out at my house for a long time. It was so great," he said.
The entrepreneur took his help a step further, recalling how he had checked online daily to ensure the press had not found them.
Prince Harry Is In The Middle Of His Family Reconciliation

As Harry and Meghan face backlash for staying quiet on the Tyler lawsuit, another issue may be keeping them distracted: Harry's strained relationship with his father, King Charles.
The Blast noted that Harry has not seen his father in over a year, aside from a brief meeting after he heard of Charles' cancer diagnosis in 2024.
Behind the scenes, senior aides for both men have reportedly met, suggesting that the father and son may be attempting to repair their fractured relationship. Though no details have been confirmed, royal insiders believe Harry is eager to make peace, especially as his father's health remains uncertain.
Royal author Hugo Vickers claims that guilt could be weighing heavily on Harry. "The ball is in Harry's court. He is the one who has to apologize and beg for forgiveness, and not the other way around," he added.
Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle address these accusations?
