Selena Gomez may be one of the biggest stars on the planet, but when it comes to her upcoming wedding to music producer Benny Blanco, she’s keeping things personal and deliciously unexpected.
In a recent TikTok shared by her Rare Beauty brand, Selena Gomez opened up about her wedding food dreams, revealing she plans to skip the traditional tiered cake and opt for a Southern staple instead.
Selena Gomez Reveals Wedding Dessert Plans

“My preferred dessert would be biscuits and gravy,” Selena confessed, adding that her Nana’s homemade version is exactly what she wants on the big day. “That sounds like dessert to me.”
As for the cake? “Whenever that day comes, I do know I don’t want a big cake,” she said. “I think I'd want a mini one, for just us, that we can freeze.”
Selena and Benny confirmed their engagement in December 2024, a year after going public with their relationship. “Forever starts now,” Gomez captioned a post at the time, flashing her jaw-dropping $1 million diamond ring.
Gomez Scrambles To Save Wedding Privacy After Venue & Guest List Leak

The couple had hoped to keep details under wraps until after the “I do’s,” but now, with mounting public interest and paparazzi circling the upscale Montecito venue, Selena and Benny are shifting into crisis mode.
“Selena and Benny are fuming their wedding plans have been leaked,” an insider told the Daily Mail. “If it wasn’t just two months away they’d think about changing the celebrations, but that’s an impossible task and they don’t want to delay the wedding and find a new location."
Instead, Selena and Benny are "doubling up on security to make the event as private as possible.”
Inside Selena Gomez’s Wedding Security Plan

In response, the couple has reportedly hired an elite security team to guard the estate around the clock in the days leading up to the ceremony.
“Security for Selena’s wedding will be of the utmost importance because not only is she a public figure, many of the guests will be too," the insider added as rumors swirl that Taylor Swift, Martin Short, and Steven Martin will be in attendance.
Special phone pouches, NDA agreements, and a strict no-photo policy are also expected to be enforced for all attendees.
Benny Blanco Says Making Music With Selena Gomez Was 'Pure Joy'

Earlier this year, Blanco appeared on Australia’s "Today" show and couldn’t stop gushing about their life together, both romantic and professional. The couple quietly recorded their first album, "I Said I Love You First," which debuted in March.
“We just started making music in our house as a little fun activity,” Blanco said. “Then all of a sudden we had one song, then two… She was just a joy to work with, and at the end of the day, I get to kiss her too.”
When asked about famous friends attending, Blanco joked that Ed Sheeran hadn’t officially RSVP’d, but that didn’t matter. “I just told him, ‘I'm gonna have a wedding and you're gonna come to the wedding,’” he said.
And while fans are eager for every detail, don’t expect Selena to follow every tradition. The singer previously admitted she’s skipping the bride and groom first dance altogether.
“I don’t think we’re looking at having one of those,” she shared on "Table Manners." “They’re a little… I feel embarrassed.”
Selena Gomez Has One Wedding Wish And It Involves Martin Short With A Microphone

As Gomez continues to prep for her high-profile wedding to Blanco, there’s one detail she’s already locked in, and it’s guaranteed to bring the laughs.
As The Blast reported, during a recent appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show," Gomez revealed that her "Only Murders in the Building" co-star Martin Short is set to give a speech at the ceremony. And according to the bride-to-be, it’s not optional.
“Marty is due to give a speech,” Selena confirmed, adding with a smile, “I told him he must… I feel like Marty would have an epic speech.”
The actress and singer also teased that their third musketeer, Steve Martin, might chime in with his signature style. “He’ll probably pull out his banjo,” she joked, hinting at a surprise musical moment.
When Drew floated the idea of having the legendary comedy duo actually officiate the wedding, Gomez was visibly surprised. “Oh my gosh! I hadn’t even thought about that,” she said, clearly intrigued by the possibility.
Fans will have to wait and see how Selena and Benny’s big day unfolds.
