Lisa Vanderpump Reacts To James Kennedy And Raquel Leviss' Engagement

Lisa Vanderpump wasn't completely surprised by the news of James Kennedy's engagement to longtime girlfriend Raquel Leviss, who they star alongside on "Vanderpump Rules."

While appearing on the June 5 episode of Bravo's "The Daily Dish," Vanderpump explained why she wasn't surprised by Kennedy and Leviss' exciting news.

"Well, I knew. I had an inkling, right. Because if you saw on 'Overserved,' James talks about that with Jim Jefferies," Vanderpump explained.

"So I had an inkling, but I didn't know exactly when it was going to be. And then I was alerted the night before of what they were up to. But boy, did they go all out," Vanderpump shared.

Following their engagement, which seemed to have taken place in the midst of production on the upcoming ninth season of "Vanderpump Rules," Leviss took to her Instagram page to share her and Kennedy's exciting news with her fans and followers.

"James proposed at the iconic Empire Polo Fields of “RACHELLA” Friday night... and I said YES! I’m over the Coachella moon," Leviss wrote in a message to her online audience. 

Then, in the comments section of her post, which included several photos and a video of herself and Kennedy dancing in front of a DJ both, Kennedy responded to the sharing.

"I'm one lucky guy. Thank you God," he replied.

Also during her interview with Bravo's "The Daily Dish," Vanderpump said that while Kennedy has been sober for nearly two years, she still did her best to keep in close contact with the DJ throughout the recent shutdowns in Los Angeles and around the world.

"James was one of the people that I had more contact with through COVID than [anyone] because he always worries me," Vanderpump admitted. 

"[I've] always felt very maternal towards James," she added.

While Kennedy has certainly done a lot of self work throughout his first two years of recovery, having Leviss' support throughout has made quite the difference for the reality star and he hasn't hesitated to applaud her for sticking by him through his struggles and helping him get to the other side.
