Scheana Shay's Husband, Brock Davies, Details Why He Hid His Affair For Two Years: 'It Was Selfish'

Brock Davies has finally broken his silence after his wife, Scheana Shay, revealed in her new memoir that he had an affair with another woman while she was pregnant with their child.

On Scheana Shay's podcast, "Scheanaigans," Brock Davies attempted to explain why he hid the affair for over a year, claiming he was only "protecting" himself.

Weeks ago, before the release of her memoir, "My Good Side," Shay, a "Vanderpump Rules" veteran, recounted the moment she learned of her husband's affair while she was pregnant with their child, Summer Moon.

"I remained in a state of paralyzed shock as he confessed that he'd cheated on me two years prior, when we were living in San Diego during the pandemic, while I was pregnant with Summer," Shay wrote in the book, admitting the news made her "completely sick to my stomach."

Davies took his turn to speak about the affair on Shay's podcast, where he described the affair as "sexual" in nature. "There was no dating," he added, "There was no courting. It was just purely that. Meet up and we'd have sex."

According to Davies, who later joined the cast of "Vanderpump Rules" and "The Valley" alongside his wife, he met up with the woman "multiple times," but eventually cut things off because he felt "horrible" about his behavior.

“I was like, ‘This is not OK, not doing this.’ And I pulled the pin, and then I forgot about it,” Davies added.

Davies didn't confess to the affair until two years later, and during Shay's podcast, he said it was because he was "protecting" himself.

“I was an absolute coward,” Davies recalled. "That man was a coward, and he wasn't thinking about protecting you. He was just thinking about protecting himself, saving his face."

“I would just minimize my actions and compartmentalize it. … I believed that I was never going to do it again and just [had to] move past this. It was selfish. It was a self-preservation tactic," he added. "I believed that I was never gonna do it again, and we could just move past this. ... And it was just another level of betrayal that I put on top of the first one."

Davies later pointed to his childhood in an attempt to explain his actions, saying he attended 15 different schools, which he claims turned him into an "egomaniac."

“I detach from a lot of my emotions easily, I minimize a lot of my destructive qualities and … my actions,” he said.

“... I know what I did and I know what I could have lost and that’s what helps me focus on my family more,” he said, adding, “At the end of the day, what I’ve done doesn’t define who I’m going to become.”

Davies also expressed support for Shay sharing the truth about their relationship in her memoir, saying she has "every right" to reveal what she wants.

“I’m proud of you for telling your story and I’m sorry for this being a part of your story," Davies told her.

Shortly after the news about Davies' affair became public, several Bravo stars rallied around Shay to offer support.

“I hate that it’s going everywhere,” Brittany Cartwright said in a previous interview. “I only found out about it a month or so ago. Even her friends didn’t know about it.”

“I do know that if Scheana and Brock decided to make it through, then nobody should judge them for that,” she later stated.

Lala Kent, meanwhile, said Shay's excerpt was "beautifully written" before sharing her thoughts on Shay's decision to stay with Davies after the affair.

Kent said, "For me, the moment you find out that your person has cheated on you, if you decide to stay, that is you forgiving that person, and you have to find a way to move on from it."

She added, "You cannot hold it over their head forever. I'm not saying that Scheana is doing that. This is just me talking. I know that I'm the type of person that would hold it over your head for the rest of your life."
