Carrie Underwood likely didn’t intend for her celebratory Instagram post to have fans focusing on the cake (and not the husband) last night. The 38-year-old country singer and clothing designer is this weekend celebrating 2010-married husband Mike Fisher‘s 41st birthday, with one very classy dessert setup shown as the “Southbound” hit-maker sent out wishes. Posting for her 10.2 million followers and just before Mike blew out his candle, the CALIA by Carrie founder celebrated her “amazing human.” Fans have questions, though. See why below.
Scroll for the photo. Carrie and Mike wed in a July 2010 ceremony in Georgia and are now raising their two sons Jacob and Isaiah. Shouting out the man who made motherhood happen for her, Carrie posted a dim-lit dinner table photo of Mike, one showing the former NHL player smiling, in a blue denim shirt, and amid a possible bar setting.
In front of Mike was a fancy-looking square and individual cake, one with swirled and burned cream layers on top, plus a fruit garnish.
Mike seemed 100% happy with his gourmet treat. Carrie, meanwhile, took to her caption, writing:
“Celebrating this amazing human and his 41 trips around the sun! I love you @mfisher1212 and I thank God for blessing us so. Here’s to whatever comes next!”
“Happy birthday Mike! What is the dessert? I can’t tell with the dim lighting,” the top comment reads. “Interesting. Looks like a snake on the top!!” another fan said – “I though so too!” a third jumped in.
The initial comment had come from nutritionist and contributor to Carrie’s “Find Your Path” diet and exercise book, Cara Clark. Her reply then drove fans to assume the dessert might be Italian. “It looks like Tiramisu!” one fan suggested. “Yes! Tiramisu!” another agreed.
“He looks lovely! That dessert does not!” also came in. Seemingly, the “American Idol” alum can get her fans going without the gym selfies or the famous legs. “That dessert looks unreal,” a further fan wrote. More photos below.
In July 2020, Carrie marked ten years of marriage to Mike, posting awkward throwbacks and even penning a note to her younger self.
“Hey you two crazy kids,” she wrote. “Believe it or not, some day you both will become (slightly) less awkward, you’ll grow up to have pretty cool jobs, you’ll meet backstage at some girl’s concert, fall in love, get married, have two amazing boys, and live happily ever after!”
Mike now joins Carrie for workouts on her 2020-released Fit52 app. Scroll for her stunning in periwinkle shorts on Mother’s Day.
