Jamie Lynn Spears Criticized For 'Superior' Snack Bars Promo

Jamie Lynn Spears is facing a tough crowd as she snacks on "superior" and healthy CORE bars from her trailer and attempts to encourage her Instagram followers to buy them. The 30-year-old actress, singer, and sister to pop princess Britney Spears updated her stories from her bed on Friday night, chewing a CORE keto bar and saying it was a "late-night snack I DON'T have to feel bad about." Negativity began earlier, though, with a May post angering fans. Check it out below.

Jamie Lynn, who has this year also influenced for Kim Kardashian's SKIMS clothing line (even including both her daughters wearing the brand), updated with a cute, curly-haired promo snap taken from the set of "Sweet Magnolias." The former Nickelodeon star sent out a knowing smile as she was snapped with a half-eaten CORE bar, also posing with two big multipack boxes of bars in front of her.

Taking to her caption and addressing her 2.2 million followers, JLS wrote: "Hi y’all! As you know I’m on set with Sweet Magnolias where I discovered these incredible superior nutrition bars @COREFoods and now I am keeping my trailer refrigerator stocked, because I can’t stop snacking on them!"

Quick to come in was a reply reading: "You have to hashtag 'ad' that btw." Instagram does require a #ad for all promotional or paid content, but a partner status does seem to get you out.

While one fan replied that she "doesnt have to, tho," another added: "Pretty obvious she's not advertising just appreciation not getting paid for this she just likes them bt duh."

It didn't end there. Jamie Lynn, who has been preaching body-positivity and self-acceptance, even addressing her "stretch marks" in a bikini update, now sees fans lashing out. "It’s really annoying that you’d post some stuff about self love and insecurity while benefiting from and promoting dieting products that encourage people to change something about themselves. Like, which is it?" one wrote.

There was plenty of love, though. "Which flavor is your favorite??" one fan asked, with another saying that the "blue" is their must-have. CORE bars include flavors from Mocha Chip Espresso and Dark Chocolate Cherry to Coconut Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chocolate. The price point online is $24 for eight bars.
