It wasn't all backlash for Kristi over her emotional remarks at Kohberger, as some netizens also defended her.

"It's not homophobic," a netizen commented. "They're saying he's going to be raped, which is also something that's frowned on and in poor taste. I think they'll get a pass for today, given the circumstances and the long 3 years it took to have a chance to address him."

Another person wrote, "She can have a pass because it's her child. But everyone else … please don't."

Beyond the controversial remark, Kristi also used several pointed words at Kohberger, saying he would be "forgotten, discarded, used, and erased."

She also told Kohberger that the world will remember him as a "loser" and an "absolute failure."

Following in the footsteps of Kristi, other members of the Goncalves family also slammed Kohberger while giving their impact statement.

Kaylee's sister, Alivea Goncalves, called the Idaho killer "insecure," with predictable patterns and shallow motives.

"You are not profound, you are pathetic. You aren't special or deep, not mysterious or exceptional. Don't ever get it twisted again," Alivea added.

Kaylee's father, Steve Goncalves, branded Kohberger as a "complete joke" who made it easy for him to be apprehended by leaving a trail of evidence.

"You were that foolish, that careless, that stupid… We knew from the very beginning we had you," Steve said, per the New York Post.

Interestingly, despite the strong remarks made in court, Kohberger chose not to give a statement when given the chance. Instead, he simply said, "I respectfully decline," before the judge proceeded with his sentencing.

Following Kohberger's sentencing, documents have emerged revealing gruesome details about the Idaho student killer's fatal stabbing of two of his victims.

According to the documents obtained by the New York Post, the 30-year-old stabbed one of his victims, Xana Kernodle, more than 50 times, with two of the wounds piercing her heart.

Police also noted that Kernodle had an "intense struggle" with Kohberger, which may explain why she suffered such a high number of stab wounds.

Meanwhile, Kaylee Goncalves was brutally stabbed more than 20 times. Though the number was lower, the wounds left her "unrecognizable" when discovered by police.

"Her facial structure was extremely damaged," the records stated, adding that some of the stab wounds pierced her lungs, liver, and multiple arteries.
