Teddi Mellencamp has just shared an update regarding her cancer battle, and, unfortunately, it's not something to celebrate.

The former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star first revealed her skin cancer diagnosis in October 2022. This past February, she shared the devastating news that the cancer had spread to both her brain and lungs.

Following emergency surgery to remove some brain tumors, doctors discovered more during a scan in April, and gave Teddi Mellencamp a 50/50 chance of survival.

Now, she revealed yet another "heartbreaking" revelation about her ongoing battle.

During Wednesday’s episode of her "Two T’s in a Pod" podcast, the 44-year-old television personality gave fans a raw and emotional update about her current health struggles. “Essentially, I haven’t been feeling good for about a month, which was kind of shocking to me, and I think, mentally, did a lot to me,” she shared.

Mellencamp explained that she initially felt strong after going through surgeries and beginning radiation and immunotherapy, but things took a turn. She described the shift, saying, “Why do I feel like I can barely open my eyes or keep my words straight?”

After securing an urgent appointment with her doctor, the 44-year-old learned that the very treatment helping shrink her tumors was also contributing to her feeling worse. “They did a bunch of scans and everything’s looking good, everything’s shrinking. They’re not seeing a bunch, but it’s showing that's why I medically feel so sick. It is from the immunotherapy.”

Mellencamp Says Her Body Needs A Break

Doctors advised her to take a break from the treatment to give her body a chance to recover.

“So we’re going to take a little break on the immunotherapy to get my body back feeling stronger. And I’m on steroids and we’re doing everything that we can to get me back to feeling like I can do this, I can do all the things.”

Mellencamp admitted the recent decline hit her hard. “I’ve never once felt that way until recently, and it’s heartbreaking.”

The health update comes two months after the reality star told listeners her brain tumors were shrinking.

At the time, she said, “And then today I had the scan where they checked my lungs, and they are shrinking, and one of them has shrunk so much you can barely even see it.” Her doctor confirmed that “everything’s just heading the correct way.”

This health update comes on the heels of another unsettling event for Teddi Mellencamp and her family.

Just days earlier, intruders attempted to break into the Los Angeles home she shares with her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, and their three children. According to Mellencamp, the family was home at the time of the attempted break-in. She told ABC News that the situation could have been far worse, but thankfully, their security system worked as intended.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that a call came in around 10:15 p.m. Monday for a burglary in progress with residents inside. Officers arrived quickly, but the suspects had already fled the property. Authorities believe they may have entered through the garage before being spooked and leaving empty-handed.

The suspects, described as two males in black hooded sweatshirts, reportedly fled the scene in a black BMW. The LAPD is actively investigating.

"We are grateful that everyone is unharmed. While we are shaken, we are fortunate to have the latest in home security systems, which scared off the intruders," Mellencamp and Arroyave said in a joint statement to ABC. "Authorities were alerted and swiftly responded. We appreciate everyone's heightened concern in light of recent criminal activities in our area, but we are safe."

Mellencamp Opens Up About Hair Loss And Emotional Toll Of Cancer Battle

Earlier this year, Teddi Mellencamp offered a raw and emotional glimpse into her cancer journey, sharing side-by-side photos on Instagram that documented the physical changes she’s endured over the last four months.

One image showed the reality star before her most recent round of treatment, while the other revealed her visible hair loss and the toll of ongoing immunotherapy. “What a difference 4 months makes,” Mellencamp captioned the April 9 post.

“Sometimes I am so focused on ‘being strong’ that I forget I am allowed to be sad, cry it out, and feel very alone,” she continued. “I love my kids, friends, and family so much and am forever grateful to them but dang today is one of those days.”

Teddi Mellencamp Admits To Feeling Alone Amid Stage 4 Cancer Battle

Just days earlier, on April 2, the former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star revealed her cancer had progressed to stage 4. In an Instagram Stories video, she admitted the diagnosis had brought a flood of mixed emotions.

“I gotta tell you, some days I feel really, really strong and some days I feel really, really sad and alone,” she told her followers. “And I think that’s a normal part of what any of us are going through, and that’s okay. Stage 4 cancer can be scary.”

Through the highs and lows, Mellencamp continues to show resilience, reminding fans that vulnerability is just as powerful as strength.
