Ozzy's jaw strength became a trending topic as fans continue to reflect on his life and career, particularly his unforgettable bat-biting moment. He bit the head off a bat during a 1982 performance in Des Moines, a shocking and gruesome stunt that cemented itself as one of the singer's most infamous moments.

Kathryn Slater, marketing & PR queen at Bat Conservation International in Austin, shared her thoughts on the incident, noting the stunt wasn't something an ordinary person could do. She claimed Ozzy had a powerful bite, suspecting he had been training his jaw for the moment.

Although Ozzy immediately raced to the hospital for a rabies shot after the incident, Slater claimed he didn't need one. She told TMZ that bats weren't rabid and typically avoided humans, despite the myths that they were bloodsucking demons.

Additionally, vampire bats were rare and typically took only sips of blood from livestock rather than humans.

Ozzy's bat-biting moment stemmed from his wild antics during his band's tour in '82. He made it a tradition to throw raw meat at the crowd, including bloody intestines and liver, leading to fans retaliating by throwing meat and objects on the stage.

During the infamous Des Moines show, a fan threw a bat at Ozzy, who immediately picked it up and bit the head off. He later claimed he never realized it was a real bat in his 2010 memoir, "I Am Ozzy," noting he knew something was wrong when his mouth was filled with blood.

"Somebody threw a bat. I just thought it was a rubber bat. And I picked it up and put it in my mouth. I bit into it," Ozzy recalled, claiming he panicked when he realized it was a "real live bat." He managed to finish the show without raising any alarms and ran to the hospital for a rabies shot, per RadarOnline.

Although Ozzy recalled the bat being alive, the fan who threw the bat on stage refuted his claims. Mark Neal claimed the bat had been dead for several days before he took it to the show. Another wild moment occurred on February 19, 1982, when the singer was arrested for being a drunk menace.

A drunk Ozzy was taken into custody after urinating on the Alamo Cenotaph in San Antonio. However, he showed zero remorse after his release on a $40 bail and proudly boasted about the incident during a concert at the HemisFair Arena.

San Antonio retaliated by banning him from performing, and Ozzy finally apologized in 1992 by donating $10,000 to the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. The late entertainer's drug and alcohol problems significantly marred his life and career, including ruining his first marriage to Thelma Riley.

According to a report by the BBC, Ozzy's dependency on alcohol and drugs strained his marriage to Riley and their three children. He welcomed a daughter and son with his ex-wife and adopted her son from a past relationship.

Eventually, Ozzy's addiction caused a rift in his relationship with the other members of the Black Sabbath band, resulting in his exit and replacement by Ronnie James Dio. The late singer later slammed the incident as "unfair," noting he wasn't the only one who dabbled in drugs and alcohol.

Despite his claims, the other members did not struggle with addiction like he did. Fortunately, Ozzy went on to have a successful solo career thanks to his relationship with Sharon, whom he credited for helping him control his intake of drink and drugs. They welcomed three children, Aimee, Kelly, and Jack.

Although Ozzy battled Parkinson's disease for years, his family reportedly hoped he had more time to spend with them. The Blast shared a source's claims about the Osbournes, noting they never expected the patriarch to leave so soon.

"There was much hope that he would be around for a lot longer than this, but at one point, there were fears they would not get him back from Los Angeles for the concert earlier this month," the source said, referencing Ozzy's farewell concert with the Black Sabbath band.

The source added that Ozzy was surrounded by love in his final days, noting his children had flown out to care for him. His daughters Aimee and Kelly reportedly travelled from Los Angeles to the UK for their dad, while his son Jack came from his place in Idaho.

Rest in peace, Ozzy Osbourne!
