Fans called Katherine Schwarzenegger “hypocritical” after she shared a picture with a friend’s baby on social media.
The author/influencer posed with a close friend’s baby boy and posted the pics to her Instagram feed on Wednesday, June 2. Many of her 947K followers found it strange because she and her husband, Chris Pratt, have made it a point not to share any photos of their daughter, Lyla Maria with the public. Katherine even gushed about how she and her friend plan matching outfits for their babies but didn’t deliver the photo proof.
“When your bestie has a little nugget boy 6 months apart from your baby girl, you plan their outfits/parties/play dates/sports games/friendship/eye wear for the next 20 years,” Schwarzenegger captioned her post. “😍 I love you MI MI! My little koala bear of love 🥺.”
The momfluencer’s posts are usually filled with overwhelmingly positive comments and feedback, but she got called out by numerous followers this time.
“Why not share pictures of your child to protect her privacy but post pictures of your friend’s baby boy? Weird 🤔,” one fan commented. Another said, “Why would you feel uncomfortable posting your child’s pic but feel completely comfortable posting a pic of your bestie’s baby?”
The fans kept pressing:
“It’s ok to take pictures of someone else’s baby and ‘exploit’ them but your own daughter is off limits. Typical celebrities 🙄,” a fed-up fan wrote.
The questions didn’t elicit a response from the star, but some devotees did their best to make sense of the strange situation.
“Depends on the parents,” one of Katherine’s supporters commented. “This boy’s mother and father will not face the same positive or negative attention that chris & Katherine’s girl will.”
Chris and Katherine did actually post a photo of Lyla on Instagram, but we are pretty sure she doesn’t look like Santa. In December, Pratt shared a sweet birthday tribute to Katherine that included a pic of the new mother holding their baby. However, he cleverly posted a Santa sticker over Lyla’s face.
Katherine is apparently really protective of her child and even has qualms with her famous father holding her. Arnold Schwarzenegger said she “freaks out” every time he gets too close to the little girl.
“Katherine is the expert gatekeeper. Whenever you touch the baby, she says, ‘Oh my God! Don’t hold her like this!’ he told Jimmy Kimmell. “I said, ‘Katherine, come on now, I’ve held enough children in my hands… I know exactly what I’m doing! I’m an expert at that stuff,’ but she just freaks out.”
