According to multiple reports, the iconic actor, 54, died by asphyxia after drowning in Costa Rica in July 2025.

Symoné, 39, shared a video to her Instagram of a black screen with an emoji of a dove on July 22. Also on the screen were the words, "I love you."

In the video, Symoné, who joined the cast of "The Cosby Show" in 1989, expressed how much Warner's death has impacted her.

“Words cannot describe the pain and the sadness and surprise that I feel with the recent loss of MJW,” the actress said in the video. “He was the big brother, he was a beacon, he was one of the most multifaceted, talented men. So gentle, and my heart and soul and hugs and kisses go out to his daughter and his wife and his mother.”

“He gave the best advice, he gave the best hugs and his smile will always be a huge, bright f-cking white smile in my head forever,” Symoné added. “I love you, and I know you’re watching over all of us now. Bye, Malcolm.”

Since Warner's death, an outpouring of love from stars and fans alike has shown just how much he meant to them.

"So sorry for your loss, Raven," a user wrote on Symoné's Instagram post. "Malcolm was like a brother to all of us. ... 'The Cosby Show' is still one of my all-time favorite shows."

Another user echoed that sentiment, writing, "I'm so sorry for your loss. Watching 'The Cosby Show' always made me feel like MJW was my brother too."

A third commenter also shared the significant impact Warner's death has had on them, adding, "This is heartbreaking."

"I talk about them because they are obviously the hugest parts of my life, the best parts of my life, the best decisions I've ever made, but I also like to keep them and their identity private," the actor said during a podcast appearance.

Warner, who married later in life after years of saying he planned to be single, also explained how he wanted his romantic relationship to serve as a lesson for others.

"But I also feel, I love talking about them because I want people to know that it's possible to be happy and to have love and love really be enriching. I met my wife at 45. It's ok to wait. You don't have to be in your 20s looking for your soulmate when you don't really know who the f-ck you are," he said.

Bill Cosby also reacted to the news of Warner's death, likening it to the death of his son, Ennis Cosby. According to Us Weekly, Ennis passed away in 1997 after a botched robbery attempt in Los Angeles, California.

“This reminds me of the call I got when I was taping 'The Cosby Show' and I got a call saying that my son, Ennis, had been murdered,” Bill said through his representative. "It's just devastating."
