I’ll tell you what I want, what I really, really want! And that is an answer to why the Spice Girls are to blame for Emma Stone’s broken shoulder.
In a series of unforeseen events, Stone is setting the record straight on what really happened to her shoulder, and whether or not the Spice Girls had ANYTHING to do with it.
High off of the success of new motherhood and “Cruella,” Stone is making the press rounds and getting asked some pretty bizarre questions.
During her Wednesday, June 2nd appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,’ Stone was questioned about a rumor floating around.
The rumor being that the Spice Girls had something to do with breaking her shoulder.
DeGeneres set the scene, “Speaking of fake stories. There’s this great story of you with the Spice Girls. You have to explain this.”
Stone responded, “I broke my shoulder in June of 2019, and we were supposed to start filming ‘Cruella’ like August or even maybe July of 2019. I broke my shoulder in two places. But for some reason the story became that I broke my shoulder at the Spice Girls concert, that I was on somebody’s shoulders and fell and broke my own shoulder.”
Check out the story in her own words!
So, I know you’re dying to know… is there any hint of truth to this rumor?
Was Stone actually on someone’s shoulders spicing up her life with every boy and every girl?
“And that’s just… it’s not true. It’s not true,” Stone revealed.
Stone clarified that she had already broken her shoulder prior to the concert, so it would be highly impossible for her to get up on someone’s shoulders.
As for the true story behind shoulder-GATE, don’t worry Stone unraveled that story as well.
She was in fact in London and had tickets for a Spice Girls concert; however, the night before the big show someone had a little “house party” which Stone attended.
“And I was on… it was like a waxed floor in this house, and I slipped and my arm went back behind me and then I broke my shoulder,” explained Stone, “And then I went to the Spice Girls concert the next day.”
To her surprise, she had no idea her shoulder was broken until AFTER the concert the following day.
Stone’s shoulder-GATE actually caused a delay in production on “Cruella,” which is the origin story into how the Disney villain came to be “Cruella de Vil.”
You can see Stone in all her (unbroken) shoulder glory as she portrays the Dalmatian obsessed fashionista, Cruella de Vil, now.
