51-year-old Matthew Perry, best known for portraying Chandler Bing on “Friends,” worried his fans with his recent appearance at the much-awaited “Friends: The Reunion”. Not only did he look haggard and way older than his age, his “slurred speech” has his fans and well-wishers in a tizzy.
Joined by his fellow castmates, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, fans noticed that Perry was the quietest. When he did speak, his speech was worrisome.
Here’s all we know, for you to wonder, do they know that we know they know?
Three Of The Seasons Were A Blur

Perry has admittedly struggled with prescription drugs and has said that “Friends” from season three to six were mostly a blur to him.
So it’s but natural for fans to worry when they noticed him with a slightly slurred speech.
But according to various media reports, the reason behind it is far simpler. On the day of the shoot, Perry had to undergo an emergency tooth procedure, and this is why the man spoke less and when he did, his diction was not as clear.
Even if humor remained on point.
Fans Wonder, Is Perry Okay?

But fans continue to worry, and there’s even a Reddit post by a user, who is feeling “overly emotional” and wondering if Perry is okay.
Wrote one fan, “Yeah I feel bad for him dudes been through a lot I hope he’s okay.”
And yet while some fans decided to throw a bit of shade at him, others were quick to defend Perry, one writing, “A triggering time for him as well. He was battling his addiction pretty hard back then, and I’m sure seeing that time in his life was hard for him”.
Kevin Bright Says Perry Is Doing Okay

There’s always the chance of anyone falling off the wagon, and Perry was in and out of rehab from 1997 to 2001, but the “unkind” comments about him have not found favor with the show’s directors.
About the concerns that fans have voiced about Perry, Kevin Bright said, “I talked to him. It was great seeing him again. And what people say is what people say. I don’t have any to say about that, except it was great to see him. And I think he’s very funny on the show. But yes, I think he’s OK. He seems stronger and better since the last time I saw him and excited about going forward.”
Did The Breakup Affect His Mood?

The actor and “Friends” alum has also recently split with his 29-year-old fiance, Molly Hurwitz, and in a statement to People, Perry said, “Sometimes things just don’t work out and this is one of them. I wish Molly the best.”
So filming while your heart’s in pain can be a bit of a doozy. And like all of Mr. Chanandler Bong’s fans, we too hope that Matthew Perry remains A-okay.
Because for ten years, he made our days just a little brighter. Only fair that he gets to bask in that sunshine too!
So here’s Perry being Perry, and then see what Jennifer Aniston binges on, after a rough day.
