Inside Teddi Mellencamp's Attempted Burglary Experience

According to new reports, Mellencamp was with her estranged husband when two intruders attempted to access their Los Angeles home. The incident occurred on the night of July 21, when the former couple's home security system alerted them to the attempted break-in.
Law enforcement sources noted the pair wasted no time calling authorities, and officers rushed to their home. Unfortunately, they could not arrest the perpetrators as they had escaped before their arrival. The two suspects reportedly robbed Mellencamp's neighbors before trying their luck at her place.
The terrifying incident comes months after Mellencamp pushed to end her 13-year marriage to Arroyave in November 2024.

Mellencamp and Arroyave's ties to the L.A. property date back five years.PEOPLE reported that they closed on the home in September 2020, the same day the TV personality announced the end of her chapter with Bravo.
The exes reportedly purchased the Encino home for nearly $6.5 million, with the 8,550-square-foot property built to embody a modern farmhouse.
It features seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and several luxuries, including "a chef's kitchen with two islands, a second prep kitchen, and an entryway with 24-foot ceilings."

As stated, Mellencamp and Arroyave purchased their L.A. home the same day the entertainer ended her time on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." She addressed her exit after three seasons in an Instagram post, telling fans how heartbroken she was.
"When I got the news, I was sad. It feels like a breakup, almost, because you develop such strong relationships with the cast, with the crew. And you get to do incredible things that you probably never get to experience without the show," Mellencamp explained.
The former Bravolebrity added that she wouldn't dwell on the past and remained hopeful for the future. As fate would have it, Mellencamp was diagnosed with melanoma two years later. She revealed the stage 4 cancer had metastasized to her brain and lungs in April 2025.
More About The Entertainer's Cancer Battle

Mellencamp got candid about her melanoma journey in a heart-to-heart conversation with her longtime pal, Kyle Richards. The Blast covered the story, reporting that the media personality explained why her cancer spread was discovered late.
She blamed her complete trust in doctors for the situation, noting she did not push for extra scans after the medical team advised her not to. Mellencamp claimed they told her it wasn't necessary because she had nothing above stage one in her body from past consultations.
"Trust your gut instinct. There was a long time that I wasn't feeling well and didn't go to the doctor. I thought I had migraines, I thought I was going through menopause. I had self-diagnosed myself with 500 things," Mellencamp advised fans.
She noted her blind trust and fear of her condition had delayed her reaction to the problem.

Mellencamp echoed similar sentiments about her cancer battle during a July episode of her "Two Ts in a Pod" podcast with co-host Tamara Judge. The Blast reported that she confessed how it was challenging accepting her condition, saying:
"I think it's really hard being in a place where I kind of am in denial of where I am physically. And when other people are not in denial, it's hard."
Mellencamp noted she avoided the tough conversations her family wished to have about her condition and the future, stressing that she did not want to address the issue. Fortunately, her health has improved, with the media personality confirming her brain tumors were shrinking last month.
Here's to hoping Teddi Mellencamp has brighter days ahead with no more burglary attempts.
