Ellen DeGeneres has finally admitted that President Donald Trump is the reason she moved away from the U.S.
The former talk show host has been living in the U.K. since November and revealed that she is "staying here" for good, or possibly until the current administration's term ends.
Ellen DeGeneres also expressed her worries over the rising threats to same-sex marriage in the U.S. and vowed to marry her wife, Portia de Rossi, again in the U.K. if Trump's administration reverses gay marriage rights.
The Comedian Decided To 'Stay' In The U.K. After Trump's Victory

After spending more than six months in the U.K., Ellen DeGeneres has opened up about her life abroad and confirmed that she left the U.S. due to Donald Trump's presidential election victory.
During the election, the former talk show host had publicly supported Trump's Democratic rival, former Vice President Kamala Harris, who ultimately lost to the billionaire mogul.
At the time, sources within her circle told TMZ that she and her wife, Portia de Rossi, decided to "get the hell out" of the country immediately, as they were feeling "very disillusioned" by the outcome.
Now, DeGeneres has revealed she was already in the U.K. a day before the election and decided to stay put at their home in the Cotswolds in Southwest England once the results came in.
"We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis," DeGeneres said in an interview with broadcaster Richard Bacon at the Everyman theatre in Cheltenham, per the Daily Mail.
She added, "And I was like, 'He got in '.' 'And we're like, 'We're staying here.'"
Ellen DeGeneres Is Unhappy Over Recent Threats To Gay Marriage In America

Elsewhere in her conversation with Bacon, DeGeneres also expressed her concerns over the growing opposition to same-sex marriage.
The former talk show host made particular mention of attempts by the Baptist Church in America to ban gay marriage in the U.S.
"The Baptist Church in America is trying to reverse gay marriage," said DeGeneres, seemingly referencing how the church voted at their annual convention to call on the Supreme Court to reverse equality for same-sex marriage.
"They're trying to literally stop it from happening in the future and possibly reverse it," she added.
The Comedian And Her Wife Plan To Remarry In The U.K. If The U.S. Bans Same-Sex Marriage

Not wanting to take any chances, DeGeneres revealed that she and her wife were considering getting married again in the U.K. if same-sex marriage is banned in the U.S.
She also bemoaned the growing intolerance and lack of empathy in today's society.
"Portia and I are already looking into it, and if they do that, we're going to get married here," the comedian revealed.
DeGeneres added, "I wish we were at a place where it was not scary for people to be who they are. I wish that we lived in a society where everybody could accept other people and their differences."

About what she thinks of the U.K., DeGeneres described the country as "absolutely beautiful" and gushed about all of the things that make it a great place to live.
"We're just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture - everything you see is charming, and it's just a simpler way of life," she shared. "It's clean. Everything here is just better - the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here."
The comedian also confirmed that her partner loves the country as much as she does.
"We moved here in November, which was not the ideal time, but I saw snow for the first time in my life," DeGeneres said. We love it here. Portia flew her horses here, and I have chickens, and we had sheep for about two weeks.'

Last month, DeGeneres took to her Instagram page to share footage of her home being invaded by her sheep.
In the video, at least four sheep could be seen inside the house, and at one point, the comedian was spotted gently chasing them out.
She added the caption, "Our sheep keep coming inside. To be fair, we do have a piece of furniture that looks like a sheep, but that one doesn't try to eat our rugs."
That same month, she shared a glimpse of the estate as she walked around chasing sheep away from the chicken coop. Her partner could also be seen mowing the slightly overgrown grass.
