Felicity Huffman's return to the spotlight years after her stint in prison is allegedly taking a toll on her marriage to William H. Macy.
The lovebirds are among Hollywood's most recognizable faces, each known for captivating audiences with exceptional acting skills. However, having a busy schedule, especially after a college admission scandal nearly ruined their image, has become a challenge.
Felicity Huffman fell from grace in 2019 for her involvement in a nationwide college entrance exam cheating scandal. She was sentenced to 14 days in prison, fined $30,000, and required to complete 250 hours of community service.
Felicity Huffman & William H. Macy Are Allegedly Having Cracks In Their Marriage

According to new reports, Huffman landing a regular TV role on Fox's "The Good Doctor" has not been great for her marriage. Sources claimed that the revival of her career years after her college admissions scandal has strained her relationship with Macy due to their busy schedules.
"Felicity and William have been in a weird situation for the last year where everything is revolving around her single-minded mission to get back to work on a weekly television series," a source told RadarOnline, adding:
"Now that Felicity has been cast on Doc, she can focus on that little screen life part. William has been working to support the couple's current lifestyle and keep things passing in the night."
They claimed Huffman could barely find the time to spend with her husband, noting she tried to make up for her absence by having lunch or dinner with him on her free days. However, it was not enough, with the source saying "[Macy] doesn't agree with her on a day-to-day career basis."
More About The Famous Couple's Relationship

Huffman and Macy have been married for over two decades, having dated for 15 years, according to In Touch. They first met in New York City in the early 1980s, with the actress later noting that their longtime bond stemmed from their "great working relationship" when she was just 21 or 22 years old.
They dated on and off throughout the 1980s and 1990s, experiencing a turbulent period in the 1990s during which they remained separated for several years.
However, Macy and Huffman could not resist their love for each other and eventually reunited, leading to the "Fargo" actor popping the big question in the late 90s.
Macy and Huffman tied the knot on September 6, 1997, and welcomed two daughters, Sophia and Georgia, in the early 2000s. In 2012, the longtime partners became the second Hollywood couple to receive stars on The Hollywood Walk of Fame on the same day.
Why Huffman Participated In The College Admission Scam

Huffman and Macy remained united during her 2019 college admission scandal, with the doting husband supporting his wife throughout the aftermath of the controversial case. A source noted she needed his help more than ever as the world had turned its back on her.
"Felicity wasn't good at making friends before the admissions scandal made her a villain and a pariah in Hollywood. It's gotten a lot worse in the aftermath, where her inner circle has been whittled down to family members and her paid employees," the insider revealed in May 2024.
The "Desperate Housewives" alum stayed quiet about her involvement in the college admission scandal for years before breaking her silence in 2023.
The Blast covered her confession, reporting that she denied abusing her power to give her daughter an easier route to success. Instead, she claimed she was deceived into participating in the scam.
The Actress Believed She Had No Other Choice

Huffman explained that she wasn't looking for a way to cheat the system, implying she was a victim of trusting the wrong person. "I worked with a highly recommended college counselor named Rick Singer. I worked with him for a year and trusted him implicitly," she stressed.
She noted her trust in Singer was so deep that she did not question it when he told her Sophia wouldn't get accepted into any college without taking the back alley.
"When he slowly started to present the criminal scheme, it seemed like, and I know this seems crazy at the time, that that was my only option to give my daughter a future," she claimed.
"I know hindsight is 20/20, but it felt like I would be a bad mother if I didn't do it. So, I did it," Huffman confessed. She added that it felt like she could not protect Sophia's future without breaking the law, like Singer suggested, and joined the scam despite it becoming her "undying shame."
Felicity Huffman Revealed Her Oldest Daughter Had A Learning Disability

Before her sentencing, Huffman wrote a letter to the judge explaining her side of the story. She accepted full responsibility for her actions while implying that she had participated in the college admission scheme because those around her had convinced her it was the best option.
The TV personality explained that she trusted the advice of a team of experts and doctors whom she began working with after her oldest daughter, Sophia Grace Macy, was diagnosed with a learning disability.
She claimed they became "a big part of my parenting and, regrettably, I came to rely on them too much." "They came to outweigh my maternal instincts and eventually, in point of fact, my moral compass," Huffman added, per The Blast.
She emphasized that she wasn't trying to blame others for her actions, as she could have said no to the scam. However, she ultimately succumbed to temptation.
