Backstreet Boys icon Nick Carter is keeping the momentum going with the release of the official music video and brand-new radio edit for his emotional track, “Searchlight.”
The song, pulled from Carter’s latest solo album "Love Life Tragedy," gets a stunning visual treatment that delves into themes of love, resilience, and the unrelenting pursuit of hope.

The video drop follows the continued success of "Love Life Tragedy," which debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Worldwide Top Albums Chart after its release on May 15 and secured Top 10 spots on pop charts across the globe. The album marks a defining moment in Carter’s solo career, earning praise for its bold emotional storytelling and vulnerable lyricism.
In conjunction with the album, Carter recently launched a unique limited-edition collectible vinyl and comic book series. Each package includes two tracks from the album pressed on vinyl, a physical lyric comic book, a digital EP, and a personalized GoodDeed Certificate.
Six total packages are being released through October 10, with a portion of proceeds supporting The Kids Mental Health Foundation, a cause close to Carter’s heart.

Carter is riding high on the success of his latest solo album.
“I was blown away that it went No. 1. I just couldn’t believe it. I didn’t expect it, so it was a pleasant surprise,” Carter shared with Digital Journal. “As it was happening, I was kind of questioning, ‘Who really cares?’ And it was a great feeling to know that I had worked so hard on something for so many years and that it was resonating with people. That’s all I could have asked for.”
The deeply personal project reflects Carter’s own journey, with each track serving as a chapter of his story. “Every single song tells a story, and every single song has its own meaning,” he said. “I spilled my heart out through this music, so going back and listening to it in this collection and its entirety was definitely fulfilling for me.”

Among his favorite tracks from the album, Carter lists “Wild Heart,” “Searchlight,” “Hey Kid,” “Hurts to Love You,” and “Made for Us.” Revisiting them during the remastering process brought back a flood of emotions.
“It’s hard to choose because every single song was a lot of blood, sweat, tears, emotions, and all the things that I had been going through,” he explained. “Hopefully, people will enjoy it, and it will help them as they hear a little bit of my story.”
Carter Announces Solo Shows In Illinois This October

Carter is also getting ready to hit the stage for two special solo performances in Illinois this fall. The concerts are set for October 11 in Des Plaines and October 12 in St. Charles, marking Carter’s return to the road with a fresh setlist and renewed energy.
“It’s nice because I finally put the record out, and now, I can do something different for those shows,” Carter shared. Fans attending the October dates can expect a revamped version of his Who I Am Tour, featuring a “large portion” of "Love Life Tragedy" woven into the performance.
“People can now hear some of those songs,” he explained. “I am going to adjust the original setlist so that people can hear and enjoy the new material that I have.”

The video release also coincides with another major milestone: the launch of the Backstreet Boys’ highly anticipated Las Vegas residency at The Sphere, which kicked off July 11. “I am very grateful for the opportunity and I’m grateful to put on a show that only The Sphere could do,” Carter said of the experience. “So, we are really proud of that.”
