Gwyneth Paltrow has sparked backlash online after admitting in her book, "Gwyneth: The Biography" by Amy Odell, that she educated her ex-boyfriend, Brad Pitt, due to their "different upbringings."
One such instance involved the two visiting restaurants, and Paltrow, who grew up with money, would teach Pitt the differences between some of the cuisines they were served.
Reacting to the admission, some netizens slammed Gwyneth Paltrow as a "classist snob," while others labeled her "insufferable."
The Actress Said She And Brad Pitt Had' Different Upbringings'

Paltrow's new biography about her life has revealed many never-before-seen admissions about her past relationships, one of which has now brought her backlash from netizens.
In the excerpt, Paltrow could be seen telling an interviewer how she and ex-boyfriend Pitt grew up with "different upbringings, which made her often feel he wasn't the right person for her at the time.
"So when we go to restaurants and order caviar, I have to say to Brad, 'This is beluga and this is osetra,'" as seen in an excerpt from the book shared by People Magazine.
Although Paltrow seemingly made the statement to highlight the difference in their backgrounds, netizens on social media took offense and slammed the actress.
Netizens Blast Gwyneth Paltrow As 'Classist' For Claiming She Educated The Actor About Caviar

Excerpts from Paltrow's book have since gone viral, with social media users, particularly on Reddit, roasting the actress.
A Reddit user slammed her as "classic classist snob with no taste, no humor," adding, "please educate us more on the differences between caviar and keep preaching about how to not eat."
Another person commented, "I simply have no words. To be so out of touch with reality that you think that sentence is in any way relatable is astonishing."
A third individual simply described Paltrow as "INSUFFERABLE."
One user, however, saw some good in the actress's words, writing, "I want to hate her, but most of this is so out of touch that it's actually funny rather than offensive."
Gwyneth Paltrow's Book Claims Brad Pitt Was Threatened By Her Success After Her Role In 'Emma'

Elsewhere in the excerpt, there is a claim that Pitt was allegedly threatened by Paltrow's success after she starred in the Jane Austen adaptation "Emma."
"After Emma came out, Gwyneth went over to [her friend, makeup artist Kevyn] Aucoin's place and cried about Pitt multiple times. He wanted to be with her but seemed to feel threatened by her success and all the attention she received," read the excerpt, which also revealed that Aucoin advised her to "end" the relationship.
It would take several months, but Paltrow and Pitt eventually parted ways, even though they were engaged at the time.
The duo never shared with the public why they chose to go their separate ways at the time. However, speculation swirled that Paltrow allegedly cheated on Pitt with co-star John Hannah, whom she met on the set of "Sliding Doors."
In 2015, Paltrow eventually hinted at the reason, though it seemed more mysterious than revealing.
"I wasn't ready, and he was too good for me," the actress told Howard Stern during an interview.
The Actress's Friends Had Reservations About Her Dating Ben Affleck

Following her split from Pitt, Paltrow went on to date Ben Affleck on and off from 1997 to 2000.
In the excerpt from the book, it is confirmed that Paltrow was attracted to Affleck's intellect, which she had first shared years ago in her 2015 interview with Stern.
"He's super intelligent and really, really talented, and he's funny," she told the American broadcaster and media personality at the time, per People Magazine.
Years later, she reflected on how dating these two Hollywood stars felt after being asked a series of probing questions about her love life during her appearance on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast in 2022.
"Brad was like the sort of major chemistry, love of your life, kind of, at the time, and then Ben was, like, technically excellent," Paltrow told host Alex Cooper.
Gwyneth Paltrow Is Married To Brad Falchuk

After Pitt and Affleck, Paltrow dated other people, even tying the knot once to singer Chris Martin, whom she split from in 2014.
Now, she is married to Brad Falchuk, whom she met during a guest appearance on the musical comedy series "Glee."
Since then, the couple's relationship has waxed strong, with their "only fights" being about prioritizing their children ahead of their marriage.
"If for some reason we can't make this work, you hope you're with somebody that would eventually have to choose his children or her children over the relationship," said Falchuck during his April appearance on Paltrow's "The Goop Podcast," per People Magazine.
He added, "To say, 'Look, I don't know how to get this to work, and they're really struggling, and we're doing everything we can. I have to choose them.'"
Falchuck has two children, Brody and Isabella, from a previous relationship, while Paltrow shares Apple and Moses with her ex-husband, Martin.
