After fans noticed she was not spotted alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt at the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" premiere, talk of tension quickly spread online.

But after she posted a recap of the night on Instagram, showing off photos with some castmates and her husband, fans quickly pointed out that there were no shots of her and Hewitt.

In response, Gellar jumped into the comments to set the record straight. "For everyone asking — I never got to see @jenniferlovehewitt, who is fantastic in the movie," she wrote. "I was inside with my kids when the big carpet happened. And unfortunately, JLH didn't come to the after party."

She went on to explain that the event was a whirlwind. "If you've ever been to one of these, it's crazy. I sadly didn't get pics with most of the cast. But that doesn't change how amazing I think they all are," she added, making it clear there is no bad blood, just bad timing.

In the original post, Gellar praised the cast, the film, and her husband's return to the franchise, excitedly stating, "I love this movie sooooo much and this cast!!"

Gellar likely spoke up because the comment section under her original post got heated fast. One Instagram user posted a lengthy critique under Gellar's event recap, accusing her of lacking professionalism for avoiding a photo with Hewitt.

The commenter referenced past rumors of tension between the actresses, stating:

"Even when the new movie was filming and you were asked about any conflicts between you and Jennifer, you did not appear to be pleased with the question. In contrast, Jennifer was asked the same question and maintained a professional demeanor, complimenting you." 

They also pointed out the awkward group shots where Hewitt and Prinze Jr. stood on opposite sides. Another fan chimed in with, "No pic with J-Love. Ooooo girl the BEEF is real," while a third urged, "Girl, do you not like Jen? Spill!"

This netizen referenced long-standing Hollywood gossip from the '90s, claiming there was low-key friction between the two women over billing and names on promotional materials for the original film.

They explained, "Apparently, there was always silent tension about the fact that they both use their first, middle, and last names professionally, and the studio was worried about how it would look on the movie poster."

The hook-wielding killer is back, and so are some of the '90s stars who helped make "I Know What You Did Last Summer" a slasher staple. Hewitt and Prinze Jr. return in the newest reboot of the franchise for a new generation of horror fans.

The Guardian notes that the original film, written by Kevin Williamson, was a slick but straightforward teen thriller. Its sequels quickly veered off course, including a direct-to-video third movie and a TV remake.

This latest installment blends fresh faces with familiar ones, and while the suspense does not quite reach the highs of Gellar's iconic chase scene, there is enough blood and callbacks to keep longtime fans satisfied.

Hewitt's character is now a college professor pulled back to her hometown when a new group receives the same ominous message.

While Gellar's Instagram recap was rubbing some the wrong way, Hewitt wowed fans with her physique at the horror movie's premiere. The Blast reports that sources close to Hewitt shared that she does not believe in extreme diets or workout fads.

According to the insider, "Jennifer is all about balance when it comes to her daily meals and workout plans," and that she "doesn't ever deny herself anything." They also noted that her exercise routine is varied, incorporating yoga, Pilates, and strength training, with a focus on staying strong.

The mother of three is reportedly big on muscle-building workouts, especially to remain energized for her children. Hewitt's approach also includes nutrient-rich meals without obsessing over restrictions.

"It's all about eating healthy foods that are rich in nutrients. Her secret has been not bowing to any pressure or beauty standard put upon actresses in Hollywood and instead feeling confident and comfortable in her own skin," the source added. 

Before her red carpet drama, Gellar made waves for a reason longtime fans can actually celebrate: the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" reboot is officially picking up steam.

A March report by The Blast highlighted that Gellar confirmed things are moving quickly behind the scenes, revealing that production offices are already set up. "We've set up our offices, which means things are progressing probably faster than I'd anticipated," she shared. 

Still, she made it clear that fans should be patient. "It's going to be a process," she said. "To do it the way it needs to be done, everyone has to be patient with all of us."
