Skai Jackson's Baby Daddy Arrested Again Amid Restraining Order Drama

Skai Jackson's baby daddy apparently cannot keep himself out of trouble.

The police have picked up the budding rapper due to a valid warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear in court back in May, after he was unable to renew his driving license.

Skai Jackson welcomed a baby boy, Kassai, with the rapper, Deondre Burgin, earlier in the year and filed for a restraining order against him months later.

Burgin was arrested again on July 14 while washing a car at a gas station in Kentucky. During a routine police license plate check, officers reportedly found out that he had a warrant pending in Hamilton County, Ohio. 

This warrant was approved when Burgin did not appear in court after being ticketed for failing to reinstate his driver's license and improper placement of the license plate in Cincinnati. He was previously issued this ticket on March 6 and was scheduled to appear in court on May 5, but he missed the trial.

As reported by TMZ, he also has a criminal record, including a detention in April over another outstanding warrant. He was serving a 90-day jail sentence at the same time Jackson gave birth in January as punishment for violating his parole.

About four months after the birth of her baby boy, the actress reached out to the court to file for a restraining order against the rapper. She accused him of various forms of abuse, which lasted for over a year, including an assault on Mother's Day.

As seen on The Blast, she claimed Burgin pulled her hair and slammed her face against a car window, all while their son was in her arms. As if that was not enough, Jackson added that he also punched her in the face.

In 2024, Burgin displayed a series of violence attacks towards her by engaging means of physical assault, including choking, scratching, and destroying her items.

During her pregnancy, he allegedly told her to swallow bleach and threatened to stab her in the belly if she raised any alarm. Jackson then asked the court to order a 100-yard distance between Burgins, herself, their child, and her pet.

She also requested that the rapper sort her legal fees and child support on a legal basis. Jackson also wants her former partner to enroll in a domestic violence treatment program so that he can become a better person.

Burgin's journey with the police has been laced with several hostile interactions. A viral video last year showed a near-life-threatening incident involving the rapper and several police officers during an arrest process.

Sources from the scene of the rough exchange noted that while trying to flee from the officers, Burgin nearly lost his life. He was eventually captured by two officers who attempted to subdue him physically.

The rapper was pinned to the ground with one knee by an officer while they called backup. During the tussle, Burgin fell and sustained a cut on his cheek; no other major injuries were recorded.

Reports from official records revealed that he was declared wanted for violating the terms of his parole.

Despite all the controversies in her journey with Burgin and the low moments that followed, Jackson has not lost sight of what gives her the most happiness.

"There are so many favorite moments. Just seeing my baby every day it's just an amazing moment. Seeing them grow, each day by day. And just being a mom and getting back to work," she admitted to Essence.

The star added that another significant part of raising Kassai is how she balances the two essential roles in her life: being a mom and a creative.

She has also discovered the strength she carries as a young mom looking after her beautiful son. The little things also matter the most to her now, such as watching her baby cry, and change shape each passing day.

She made her mark at Disney as one of the pioneer figures of diversity and representation at the network. She pursued more roles in TV, films, and voice acting after her four seasons on "Jessie" wrapped up.

Jackson also leveraged her massive social media following to establish a brand that focuses on dissecting social issues affecting Black youth. She took her expertise to the red carpets and quickly became a massive part of the Gen Z movement as a fashion and entertainment icon.

She has played influencer roles for several established brands via her social media platforms, including Cantu Beauty, Aerie, and Cacharel Parfums. She reportedly earns between $10,000 and $30,000 per post, depending on the brand she works with.

Jackson became an author in 2019 with the release of her book, "Reach for the Skai: How to Inspire, Empower, and Clapback," published by Crown Books for Young Readers.
