Nicolas Cage recently reflected on his brief early '90s romance with Sarah Jessica Parker, recalling a dinner with her mother that likely ended their relationship.

His remarks come after Parker confirmed they dated while filming "Honeymoon in Vegas," before she met her husband, Matthew Broderick.

Nicolas Cage's love life, however, has taken a rocky path, as he has been married five times and has three children with three women, including his current wife, Riko Shibata.

Cage recently opened up about his brief romance with Sarah Jessica Parker, revealing the moment he realized things were unlikely to work out.

The 61-year-old actor told E! News he suspects he may have failed to win over Parker's mother during a dinner in the early '90s.

"I cared about Sarah, but I don't think I passed the mom test," Cage admitted.

He continued, "I recall sitting down with her and her mother for dinner at the Russian Tea Room, and I don't know if it was my blue Vanson leather motorcycle jacket (which I still have) or my sinusitis, but I didn't hear from her again."

Cage's comments come just after Parker confirmed on "Watch What Happens Live" that they briefly dated around the time they co-starred in the 1992 film "Honeymoon in Vegas."

When the show's host, Andy Cohen, asked the "Sex and the City" star point-blank if she had dated Cage, Parker didn't hesitate to respond.

"Yes, I did," the 60-year-old actress replied, prompting Cohen to joke, "Oh wow! We've got some talking to do."

Parker and Cage first sparked dating rumors in 1991 while filming "Honeymoon in Vegas," though their relationship ended before the "And Just Like That" star began seeing Matthew Broderick in 1992.

Parker went on to marry Broderick in 1997. The couple now shares three children: their son, James, 22, and their twin daughters, Tabitha and Marion, 16.

Reflecting on her relationship with Broderick, Parker said on "WWHL" that she knew she loved him "pretty early" after "just spending a little bit of time with him."

She recalled, "I remember I had to leave to go on location to shoot a movie. We were on East 10th Street [in New York City], and I was getting in a car to go away for a while. I remember thinking, 'I love him."

Parker also admitted she was the first to say "I love you," and Broderick said it back right away.

While Parker settled into a lasting marriage, Cage's love life took a different turn.

The "Ghost Rider" star has been married five times. He wed Patricia Arquette in 1995, followed by Lisa Marie Presley in 2002.

That same year, he married Alice Kim, with whom he shares a 19-year-old son, Kal-El. The couple divorced in 2016.

In 2019, Cage married Erika Koike, though the marriage ended within the year. He is now married to Riko Shibata, and they welcomed their daughter August in 2022.

Cage also shares a son, Weston, 34, with his ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton.

Earlier this year, Cage's personal life made headlines when Fulton filed a lawsuit against both Cage and their son, Weston.

Fulton accused Weston of assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, following a violent altercation in which she claimed to be one of the victims. Weston was later arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly injuring two people.

Although Fulton withdrew her claims against Cage in March, her legal battle with their son, Weston, continues.

Fulton had previously alleged that Cage knowingly ignored his son's violent tendencies, mental health struggles, and substance abuse issues, accusations she claimed amounted to negligence.

The actress also accused Cage of bailing Weston out of jail, financially enabling him, and supplying him with alcohol. These claims have now been dismissed and cannot be refiled.

In a statement to USA TODAY, Fulton's attorney, Joseph Farzan, said, "Ms. Fulton and Mr. Cage have reached an amicable and confidential resolution."

Meanwhile, Weston's lawyer, Michael A. Goldstein, suggested Fulton's motives were questionable, telling the news outlet: "It appears Ms. Fulton and her personal injury lawyers saw the writing on the wall. Ms. Fulton's continuing lawsuit and objectives are suspect given earlier claims of concern for his well-being. Perhaps she will reconsider and send positive energy instead."
