Kansas City Chiefskicker Harrison Butker celebrated his 30th birthday on July 14, but instead of well-wishes, social media was flooded with sarcastic jabs referencing his now-infamous commencement speech comments about women and homemaking.
Harrison Butker, who faced widespread backlash earlier this year for telling female graduates to "embrace the role of homemaker" during a Benedictine College commencement address, became the target of online trolling once again as fans used his birthday as an opportunity to mock those views.
Harrison Butker Mocked On Birthday Over Controversial Commencement Speech
"Wife, go to where you belong and make my birthday cake! Where you belong!" one user quipped in the comments. Another wrote, "Happy birthday! Since your wife is already in the kitchen, maybe she'll make you a cake!"
Others chimed in with, "His wife bout to be in the kitchen making him that bday dinner," and "Just make sure to get in the kitchen and make your own cake!"
One commenter sarcastically questioned, "Was he born in the 1800s?"
NFL Kicker Sparks Backlash After Telling Female Grads Their True Calling Is Motherhood

In the 2024 speech, Harrison Butker directly addressed the female graduates, stating, "I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you." He questioned how many women were thinking about their future careers and suggested instead that most were likely looking forward to marriage and motherhood.
"Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world," he said. "But I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world."
Harrison Butker then praised his own wife, Isabelle, calling her a "homemaker" and crediting her with finding her true purpose in life through marriage and motherhood.

The speech sparked national debate for its traditionalist views and didn't stop at gender roles.
Butker went on to criticize abortion, IVF, surrogacy, and what he described as "degenerate cultural values" promoted by the media.
He even took a swipe at former President Joe Biden, saying, "Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the Sign of the Cross during a pro-abortion rally."
Harrison Butker Publicly Endorses Donald Trump, Citing Pro-Life Stance

Before the election, Butker made headlines after throwing his support behind Donald Trump, calling him "the most pro-life president."
Butker cited the president's anti-abortion stance as the primary reason for his endorsement. "I'm supporting the president that's going to be the most pro-life president," Butker announced during a campaign event for Missouri Senator Josh Hawley.
He later reiterated the sentiment on Fox News' The Ingraham Angle, saying, "The topic is the most crucial topic for me. I want us to be fighting for the most vulnerable, fighting for the unborn."
The NFL kicker encouraged voters to prioritize candidates who uphold religious values and support the pro-life movement. "I think you have to vote for whoever is gonna be the most pro-life," he added. "We have to be prayerful men that put God first. I think that's what's going to be best for our country."
Harrison Butker Defends Controversial Speech

While the speech drew widespread criticism and accusations of misogyny, Butker has stood by his message. He later claimed his words were misinterpreted and that his intent was never to belittle women, but rather to uplift those who choose to dedicate their lives to raising children.
"I was trying to speak life for so many women that have dedicated their life to being the homemaker, being the one that raises the children, and it's a beautiful role, but it's not a role that should be diminished," he explained.
Still, Harrison Butker appears to be staying focused on football, as the Kansas City Chiefs gear up for another season, and perhaps a third straight Super Bowl run.
