The struggles child stars like Tracee Ellis Ross face in the non-static industry, is not new to the media. Getting into the public eye at a young age can be terrifying, yet exciting.
Problems often begin when they start to care what other people think of them, and to say the least, there will be mean thoughts from over time. The goal is to know when to snap out of it.

“Black-ish” actress, Ross, who's also a singer, producer, director and TV host falls into the category of kids who were born right into the spotlight.
The black beauty who is popularly known for her appearance in American drama “Girlfriends,” and a couple more shows, opened up recently about the difficulties of being a child star even when she was born to popular parents.
Ross was born to popular American singer Diana Ross and a renowned music executive and businessman Robert Ellis Silberstein.
She grew up around and getting to know several artists and famous people.
Career Difficulties

Although Ross had the biggest chance of entering the entertainment industry without any struggles as one would think, the “Mixed-ish” actress admits she had a tough time with auditions and the sort.
She told Marie Claire, how hard it was for her to get into acting after she decided that was what she wanted.
She said this “I was so uncomfortable in my own skin.”
“I was so busy trying to be who I thought everybody else wanted me to be, and there was no space for me. I had wreaked havoc on my soul, and it was torturous,” she explained.
The Breakthrough

Although Ross had a hard time, as she constantly thought of what everyone thought of her, Ross was eventually able to get into acting. She landed roles in a few shows, until her appearance in “Girlfriends.”
This show didn’t really give her much prominence, as it was canceled after eight seasons, and she was left looking for a job again.
After six years of the show's cancelation, she finally got a role in ABC’S sitcom “Black-ish” which gave her the fame and success she desired. The series was so successful that she got her spinoff “Mixed-ish,” which is also doing very well.
