Dove Cameron is today marking what would have been former "Descendants" co-star Boyce Cameron's 22nd birthday. The actor tragically passed away aged just 20 in summer 2019, dying from epilepsy in what the coroner deemed an "unexpected" death. On Friday, 25-year-old Dove took to Instagram, where a touching and emotional tribute complete with photos and videos also included a snap of her in a t-shirt she claims Boyce "slept in." Dove wished it could smell like him. See the moving post below.

Scroll for the full post and the t-shirt. Dove, who has gotten a tattoo to forever commemorate her former co-star, opened with a black-and-white video including them both. She then shared shots from a fun couch wrestle amid happy times, but the tone turned sadder as the "Powerpuff Girls" star posted a selfie.

The photo did not show Dove's face. Rather just her upper half as she wore a simple blue tee, with the caption explaining more. See the touching words below.

In a post that clocked over 750,000 likes in under an hour, Dove opened: "You should be 22 today. i am wearing your old shirt , the one i think you slept in mostly. i wish it still smelled like you. i hope it still holds your dna, some piece of you. i close my eyes when i imagine the same place that covered your collar bones and heart now cover mine."

She then admitted to writing the post from the heat of her car in L.A.

Referencing a sense of being "stuck in time" as she said she would always "love" Boyce like this, Dove added:

"Times like these, mundane even, i’m 17 again and you are 14 and we have just met. we will pass each other on our way to our respective sets in the morning, each morning, and we’ll share a mischievous twinkle about everything that lies ahead of us. i still have years to love you more than i would then, we still have years."

Admitting a "burden" as she still tries to "make sense" of the loss, the "We Belong" singer said she'd "hold your body in mine forever , everywhere i go, i hold you, i carry you lovingly, willingly. i am lucky for this . we are all better for it."

Cameron was found unresponsive at his L.A. home on July 6, 2019. He passed away in his sleep after suffering a seizure and remains best-known for "The Descendants" and TV series "Jesse."
