Cardi B continues to be one of the most dominant artists in the world as this has been the case since the summer of 2017. Since then, she’s been very consistent with her hit records and has made history with every single. The Bronx rapper has had her fair share of legal woes as well though and one in particular from 2018 is still hovering over her that she is now looking into getting thrown out. This involves an incident with a fan in New York City.
Cardi’s Alleged Bodyguards Beat Down A Fan

This incident went down in May 2018 as Cardi left a Met Gala afterparty. The alleged victim here is Giovanni Arnold, who supposedly wanted an autograph from Cardi. Cardi then supposedly sent bodyguards that she had with her to attack Arnold, and this is after he was seen instigating the situation by saying “Please beat me up. I’ll take all of your money.” Now, according to court documents obtained by TMZ, Cardi is looking to get this lawsuit finally thrown out.
Cardi Says Fan Verbally Attacked Her

These documents also added that Cardi claimed that Arnold was verbally attacking her, and this is all while Offset was with her as well. Cardi’s alleged bodyguards soon went to beat down Arnold, but Cardi says that these men were not working for her as bodyguards. She also supposedly did not tell them to go attack Arnold in that moment. There’s also the claim being used that Arnold was nervous that Cardi was going to slap him, but she didn’t do that due to her ongoing pregnancy at the time.
Incident Came A Month After Cardi Released Debut Album

At the time of this incident in NYC, Cardi was really starting to become an international superstar. That April, she released her debut studio album, “Invasion Of Privacy.” That project went on to debut at number one of the Billboard 200 chart and was led by hits such as “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It” feat. J Balvin and Bad Bunny, and “Ring” feat. Kehlani. Earlier this year, Bodak Yellow went on to go diamond in the US, making Cardi the first female rapper to reach this mark.
Cardi’s Sophomore Album Is Expected To Be Out This Year

While “Invasion Of Privacy” continues to do numbers and is still on the Billboard 200 chart, Cardi’s second album is supposedly finally coming in 2021. Cardi hasn’t released the official title for this project nor the release date but has hinted multiple times that it will arrive this year. Earlier this spring in an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Cardi said that she needed to finish a few more songs and music videos before the album is ready to be put out.
