Lady Gaga Is Performing 'Smelly Cat' On 'Friends' Reunion Special!

“Could there BE any more star power in the “Friends” reunion special?”

Yes, there could BE more star power and that is where Lady Gaga comes into play.

Gaga is preparing her vocal chords to bring a special performance to the “Friends” reunion special.

“Friends: The Reunion” airing Thursday, May 27th marks the first time the entire cast of the beloved ‘90s sitcom will have been together in the same room in 17 years.

This reunion is one for the history books, friends!

Jennifer Anniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry will NOT be reprising their original roles, but rather they will be portraying themselves.

Variety reports that Gaga will be joining the cast to perform “Smelly Cat” with Lisa Kudrow who famously sang the song as her character, Phoebe Buffay.

Sing it out loud! “Smelly cat, smelly cat what are they feeding you? Smelly cat, smelly cat it’s not your fault!”

Kudrow performed the number as Buffay in Season two, episode six titled, “The One with the Baby on the Bus.”

While speaking to Variety, “Friends: The Reunion” director and producer, Ben Winston, revealed how Gaga’s guest appearance came to be.

“I said to Lisa, ‘Would you be prepared to sing it?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, that would be fun,'” Winston said.

Winston and Kudrow went back and forth throwing around different celebrity names they’d like to see do the duet.

Winston recounts, “We went through a few names, and we both agreed that Gaga, if we could get her, would be the ultimate one because she associates with and feels close to Phoebe in so many ways, as Gaga says on the show.”

I think there might be a remix of Gaga’s “Stupid Love” in the making after this guest appearance?

“I Want Your Smelly Cat,” anyone? … Better yet, maybe not.

Winston said Gaga jumped the chance to do it, and explained that it was a really beautiful moment.

Like the true performers that they are, Gaga and Kudrow had very little time to rehearse and film their duet of “Smelly Cat.”

Winston revealed to Variety, “We sat there with the two guitars with Lisa and her and worked it out there and then.”

There’s nothing quite better than a one hit wonder!

The cast of “Friends” have been making the press rounds getting fans hyped for the big special.

Nostalgia always brings out the best in people, and while reflecting on ALL the superstar cameos “Friends” had during it's run, Anniston admitted that her ex-husband Brad Pitt was among her favorites!

Some other famous faces fans can expect to see in the special include, but are not limited to David Beckham, BTS, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Reese Witherspoon, Cindy Crawford, and Mindy Kaling.
